Christine looked at Ishka, "Chancellor Kabarann is a piece of work. Now he is bringing down the Federation leadership."
Ishka smiled knowing that the RBC must just have learned that Harper Madison has taken down President Parker Hatherton and Admiral Monica Montgomery for arranging for black market trade of Ice Dilithium.
Ishka smiled, "Kabarann should realize his place. All trade here goes through me. Any violation of that reality and boom, it's over."
Christine was stunned, reading between the lines. She already knew that the Ferengi was using his Klingon colony charter as leverage against Kabarann. She already knew that Ishka had approached a Federation court about trying to force Kabarann to honor the colony charter.
Obviously this plan failed. Ishka planted a new seed. He set Kabarann up to make the bad deal. He brought them down. He planted the seed with Admiral Harper Madison. With Richard Madison serving on Federation One, they could bring them together and then take them together.
Christine could not believe what was been said and what was going on in the unspoken zone in that room. Ishka had gone from small time hood to political player.
I would like to say that this has been natural growth of a Ferengi businessman but this is a whole lotta luck. Ishka won the colony charter for a desolate snow planetoid and ended up sitting on the Ice Dilithium gold mine.
Ishka is a dangerous man now. He is a small time hood playing the big player's game. He has messed with Interplanetary politics now. The Montgomery family is very dangerous.
Christine could not believe the thoughts was running through her mind. She hated Branson. She stood for nothing but Branson could play the political game. Nicole may be able to use her connections to gain some control of this situation.
Christine felt almost dirty as she dressed warmly to head over to the igloo. She had just learned that Elizabeth Coren was about to be sworn into the role of interim president. The system is fucked!
The Federation was once the example for grand democracy and now it's presidency is being traded for power and Dilithium.
