The arrival of the Two Betazoid Ships, the Crysanthymum and the Geranium to the Lily Pads at Omega Prime made it clear that the process had begun. The appearance of the support crafts bringing the students from Bajor also gave a strong indication that everyone was prepared, at least, to listen to the criticism of President Johnson and his approach towards Admiral Hunt and the Phoenix Fleet.

Admiral Illyan Coren, representing the Betazoid Council was joined by the Members of the Legislative Assembly for the Colony in Sparta. The meeting also included Diplomatic Aides for Bajor. The Bajoran Republic was not prepared at this time to show formal support for the Phoenix Fleet.

Admiral Coren looked at Vincent and Nicole as he began his presentation...

"A youthful age is desirable, but aged youth is troublesome and grievous."

"A quote for Chilo of Sparta, the Ancient Earth City, in honor of our meeting here at the gateway to a new time and space. The Betazoid Council is here because we too sense a rise in the zealotous behavior of President Johnson and believe that he does not represent the views of all members of the Federation any longer. Hunt is only serving as the lightning rod for our beliefs. He is the fixture to which all attention is bound but the truth is Johnson's views no longer represent the unity that has bound the Federation. There must be a new unification.", Coren spoke so eloquently. His Betazoid nature made him so appealing to all. He was positively angelic.

"A Phoenix Unification.", Nicole blurted out.

"Your Phoenix took my daughter Trista, aboard the Princess Diana. Why should we chose you.", Illyan shouted back.

"The Phoenix took my sister, Nancy aboard the same Diana. How dare you talk to me about what we represent!", Nicole snapped back.

"The Phoenix Fleet is not represented by those who have fallen for us. The Phoenix Fleet is represented by our stand for what is right, what is just and most of all what is honorable.", Commodore Viceroy brought the meeting back to order. Vincent may have given up his title of Admiral but there was little doubt who commanded the room.

"Thank you, Commodore Viceroy.", Hunt suddenly appeared on the view screen. He had been listening in and had to interject.

"The growing tide of President Johnson's behavior shocks the conscious of everyone who values freedom, and the ugly, hateful acts particularly stain the character of democracies where liberty and racial freedom are supposed to be respected", Hunt spoke with a similar eloquence to Coren. He wanted to sound impressive.

"“One man may hit the mark, another blunder; but heed not these distinctions. Only from the alliance of the one, working with and through the other, are great things born.”

Hunt shocked everyone with the amazing quote from Antoine De Saint-Exupery, an Earth philosophy.

Coren deeply respected the approach, "The Betazoid Council respectfully places its support behind the Unification."

Commander T'Ros stood up and shocked the meeting, "The Romulan High Council offers its support of the Unification."

Everyone turned to the Romulan not totally understanding why she chose that moment but in total shock as to why the Romulans would support us.

"Like the Betazoid Coucil, the Romulans do not see the support of President Johnson in moving towards a peaceful co-existence between our empires.", T'Ros spoke, trying to emulate the elogance of Admiral Coren and Admiral.

"Here... Here...", Vincent smiled, raising his glass.

"To the Phoenix Unification....", Commodore Viceroy smiled, hoping others would share his toast.

Hunt raised a glass on route to the USS Wrath of Achilles. He too hoped for others to join them.

Admiral Coren was very slow to stand up, "“A single event can awaken within us a stranger totally unknown to us. To live is to be slowly born."

"I too am familiar with your Saint-Exupery, Admiral Hunt. To the Phoenix Unification.", Admiral Coren took a large drink.

The Bajorans turned to the viewer and then to Commodore Viceroy, "We will take your message to the Republic."

It was not a yes, but it was a step towards yes.

The Phoenix Unification was born here in Sparta, Stardate 64172.93.
