Lost Our Way Empty
PostSubject: Lost Our Way   Lost Our Way EmptyMon Dec 29, 2014 7:13 pm

The colony is an ongoing concern of all of us. We are all monitoring the stars to see what becomes of the rise of General Patruchio neroQ or the advancement of Thot Pran, the Warlord of the Breen. We have for nearly six years put our faith off and on in the hands of Nicole Branson. Nicole has been the conscience of the colony.

She has been a beacon to our history. She is the last remnants of the Omega Fleet and the last link to Admiral Tim Veltkamp who founded the Omega Planet and provided a home for the Omega Academy, the birthplace of so many officers in the King's Fleet. She has been the beacon to which we have followed in our times of need and believe me there have been plenty.

Nicole has also been a beacon of a lot of trouble. Admiral Illyan Coren, Admiral Alexander Laree, Ambassador Elizabeth Coren and Admiral Eugenio Coren brought stress and even brought ugly underhanded assaults on our existence because of her. She invited Admiral T'Ros to the Phoenix Colony only to have the Romulan built Vorta'Rome and build a legacy of assualt on the capital and on the citizens of this colony. Admiral T'Ros would use the experience to build herself to become the Praetor of Romulus. Today, she is the head of Starfleet Command... Because of her association with colony or in spite of it.

T'Sir Suran is the President of the Federation and she attended the Academy here on Reykja Penthe. Her father may not approve of her position in Federation politics, he can't help but know that her association with this colony has helped shape her position in interplanetary politics.

I have come to watch her every move because her celebrity status makes her newsworthy. I have come to realize that the role of the media is to keep her honest so she continues to do the right thing. This includes doing the honourable and truthful thing.

RBC has learned that Jaskalla Naar'Haaj reached out to Nicole Branson during the human holiday of Christmas. The former partner of the Governor and a link to a dark past in the history of Medara and the colonists around her father Admiral Jaskal Naar'Haaj and to another dark governor in his daughter Pra Naar'Haaj.

Upon hearing this, reporters for this network and for FBN learned that Governor Nicole Branson may have responded with an inappropriate image of her own. Thus far, reporters for either network have been able to access the personal logs of others to capture the image to share with our audience. When approached about the image, Nicole Branson denied even the first image from the USS Providence Engineer.

Nicole Branson would not answer any more questions. This is the worst thing you can do to a reporter. This is like blood in the water. Reporters, myself included know when someone is lying. We go harder after the fact. We go harder after the truth.

A source on the Reykja wej'veQ, the station which hosts our network, the Reykja Broadcasting Corporation followed Lt. Commander Jaskalla Naar'Haaj into a public washroom. The photo prove she is lying about their relationship. The job of a reporter is to serve as a conscience for the people. It is my duty to share the image to show that Nicole is not telling the truth and if she is not telling the truth about this; what else is she not telling us the truth about.

I share the image out of respect for my role as the Information Officer of the King's Fleet. It is my duty to share the truth as I know them but in this moment, I know that I have put my trust in Nicole Branson and will do so again. We have gone from a frozen wasteland to living in wooden structures we built with our hands and in our struggle. We have gone from living in igloos constructed in haste after a fire that nearly destroyed us all. Today, we look at a grand city which sees summer, winter, spring and even fall.

I am embarrassed that Nicole may have found love and we think this is evidence that she is not a fine governor. We all have searched for love. We have all failed at it. We have failed as a people when we take the act of love, the very symbol of the togetherness we have all strived to create in the King's Fleet and in the colonies I and all of you have lived in and turned it into something sordid and seamy.

We have to be better. We have to be more than just icon watchers who long to bring each other down. How can we call ourselves Kings if we behave like lions hoping to see one more slaughter?

Best of luck, Governor Branson and hopefully this is the one true love you have always longed for.
