The assistance of Jarada has been overwhelming. They are an industrious people hell bent on rebuilding the colony. The Jarada have been working, not only hard but smart as they build a city of their own and rebuild the cities for us.
Working closely with Commander Acrylos Teero to rebuild or repair buildings lost to the Vulcan Occupation and even to advance the communication and energy lines to TNT.
Scaffolding fills the cities as rebuilding occurs. Acrylos and Vincent were all smiling as General John Smith continues to spread his troops throughout the country side in support of their efforts.
General Smith has been to the Capital many times since his arrival but he has never met with Vice Admiral Nicole Branson. Nicole negotiated the treaty with his service staff.
The General now asked for a meeting with Commodore Vincent Viceroy. The governor however was in Osaka to oversee the development of the safe havens. The governor diverted the General to meet with Vice Admiral Nicole Branson.
Nicole had been busy processing the Jarada and agreed to meet General Smith at the Commune. She had booked a back room just for the meeting. She contacted Orchid to ask the babysitter to stay late and she could meet them for supper.
Nicole arrived late, as usual. She gave Orchid a peck on the cheek and then headed into the back room.
"General John Smith, I am Vice Admiral Nicole Branson. This is my wife, Dr. Orchid Coren.", Nicole began.
"Ah, a woman. Disappointing.", General John Smith retorted.
"What?", Nicole answered.
"I expected to meet the Governor, the MAN in charge.", General Smith replied.
Nicole was taken aback, "Vincent and I share duties on the colony, Sir."
The General doffed his head to one side, "A wife? Would it not be common for a woman of your species to take a man as a 'husband'?"
Now Nicole was getting mad, "It would common, sir. It however is not unreasonable for a woman or a man to take a same sex spouse in the 24th century."
"The purpose of any union is procreation, would you not agree?", General Smith tried to poke a whole in her response.
Before Nicole could answer, Orchid jumped in, "General, we have two children."
"What?", the General looked positively puzzled.
Orchid laughed at his puzzlement. The General seemed to be appeased by his ponderance.
The three enjoyed a drink as they discussed his progress. The General enjoyed a nice supper.
He turned to Nicole, "Please have Governor Viceroy provide me with the necessary contractual PADDs for the Jersey City. We have already begun construction of the ship yard and the building of our first ship, the USS Queen Elizabeth in honor of our own Queen."
Nicole took out the PADDs and handed them to the General. General Smith pushed them back to the center of the table, "Deals are made between men of stature, not women in their service."
"Listen, Iagaiog (pronoucned Eye-A-Gaia-Oh-Gee) Agiag (Pronounce Age-eee-Age-ee), the land was given me by Rear Admiral Jake Anderson and Admiral Tim Veltkamp. The land is mine to dole out as I see fit. You will deal with me or you will deal with no one but the Vulcans.", Nicole snapped.
The General was shocked that Nicole Branson would take a chance at his language and at his own name. He looked right at her and after a long pause started to laugh, "It is a pleasure doing business with you, ma'am."
The General stood up and smiled, "Thank you again, Ma'am."
