The Cheesu had attacked the Antarian trade contingent returning from Carlisle. This had once again exasperated the relationship between the partners in the Trans Stellar Trade Federation. The Cheesu have observed the Antarians as getting to the King's Fleet as a way of garnering favour with the peacekeepers.
As the Cheesu warship entered the protected territories, the Double Q banked and locked on the warship. The Cheesu vessel had ship destruction capable weaponry but was dwarfed in size compared to the Sovereign starship.
The Cheesu counsellor immediately accused the King's Fleet as acting on behalf of the Antarians complaining that this was an act of allegiance and not of peacekeeping.
John and Russia tried to assure them that there would be no act of aggression out of the King's Fleet without provocation. The Cheesu claimed immediately that the locking on the Cheesu vessel was already an act of aggression.
John was furious claiming that it was the Cheesu who were violating air space around the Hatherton and its Asteroid orbital satellites.
The Cheesu pointed out that the Hatherton was actually in the Trans Steallar region. It was the King's Fleet who were squatters. John was growing more impatient. Commander T'Zohl looked at John, "Technically it was the Andorians who occupied this region after the discovery of the Andorian Gateway. The King's Fleet only came here by accident after the exodus from Reykja Penthe."
"I don't think they care.", John snapped, his impatience showing.
"Captain, the the Cheesu vessel is beginning to accelerate towards the Hatherton. At this speed, this will become an attack vector in mere moment", Wolf looked at John.
"Follow that ship. If they get within firing distance of the the Hatherton, destroy the ship.", Captain Warren ordered.
"Inform Admirals Viceroy and Deveniss of the potential attack trajectory.", John ordered.
"Inform the other ships in the King's Fleet and ask Colonel Viceroy to activate the Hive.", Captain John Warren, Task Force Commander sprung to life.
The Cheesu announced on all channels the act of aggression by the so-called peacekeepers The Cheesu also demanded a meeting with the Antarians to discuss the use of the group to keep the peace.
As yet, the King's Fleet had done nothing but monitor the attack trajectory. Vincent had made it to station ops and had demanded no action. The admiral ordered all stations to stand down and to brace for attack. Admiral Deveniss and Lt. Hatherton requested permission to protect the station. They were denied despite Michaela's incessant persistence. Vincent asked the Operations Officer to leave Station Ops.
The Cheesu entered the stations defence grid radius. Vincent was certain they were bluffing. T'Zohl warned John that the orbits of the Carlisle and Gwenievere were very small so the Hatherton could provide heat for the asteroids. If the Cheesu ship tried to pass between the asteroids and the station the ship may hit one or the other and be destroyed.
"Warn the Cheesu and warn the capital. Now!", John shouted.
The Cheesu ship veered hard to try to miss the Hatherton and poised into Carlisle destroying one of the four atmospheric towers and badly badly damaged the main centre of the city of Opera. The entire crew of the Cheesu vessel were lost and as many as 2000 citizens of Opera remain unaccounted for. The large O built in homage to the Omega Colony in the bay is a total loss.
The Cheesu immediately have discredited the incident as the unfortunate act of a madman. The Antarians and the King's Fleet have condemned the incident as an attempt to doom the King's Fleet to attack the Cheesu.
Governor Nicole Branson has condemned the incident as an attack. The city of Opera has been substantially damaged and will need significant repairs.
