Tanus was not thrilled with the scrutiny of the Task Force Commander for his relationship with Samuel Warren. Sammy was already a handful because of own struggles with his sexuality. He could be quite moody about sex with Tanus. He had a male sexual relationship with Giselle Leo. He doesn't even really understand who he is.
Della Todd was really struggling with the Gorn features that had befallen him since his return to the King's Fleet. He had been in continual contact with Dr. Skylight Greene about restoring his humanity. Dr. Greene came to the hybrid alien with a potential solution however it would leave the former marine legend fully female but human.
Della had a long conversation with General Brown only to learn that if he accepted the solution he would lose the one thing keeping him on the ground as a fighting marine, his Gorn strength. Bell told Della that he still continued to view him as a conscripted traitor and not as a marine. Della had always been a marine and had spoken to Ro Arroe about accepting the lizard like features of the Gorn. Even with the counselling of the resident Vedek, Della hated her green lower body.
Della went to see Patrick Hatherton. If anyone could understand the predicament of gender struggle, it was the fleet support vessel commandant. Patrick was not thrilled with his own relationship with the growingly arrogant Franklin Stone. Patrick offered Della a job servicing the fighter squadron if she chose the surgery and to be removed from the marines.
Della was a quick study but of course she missed the corps. Della had been assigned the service on the Hercules as Thanius Tchilack gave his crew shore leave for Christmas. The Gercules would then be used to take the Dragons to the outpost on Alpha Penthe believed to have been attacked by the Romulans.
Tanus came to check on the status of the troop transport. He had learned from Patrick Hatherton that Della Todd had been assigned the service. Tanus was not thrilled to meet his former lover. He found Della grabbing a rest during the repairs.
Della was feeling a bit depressed after working very hard to get the Hercules back up to speed. Tanus asked for a status update, keeping things very professional. Della told the Gorn that the ship would be ready for tomorrow.
Tanus stated that the Dragons were having a large joint supper before the launching. He looked at Della, "Would you like to be my guest?"
"I thought you were with Sammy Warren.", Della responded.
"There are many issues that surround Mr. Warren.", Tanus responded, "And this is just dinner."
"Aye, General.", Della nodded.
