T'Zohl looked at Cougar, "It is okay you know."
"What is okay?", Cougar looked at the Vulcan pilot turned ambulance queen.
"It is okay for you and Terry to be in love and to be happy about it.", T'Zohl looked at Cougar.
"Zollie, it was not okay in 2396, nearly 400 years in the future is n a world and a universe predicated on acceptance, inclusion and the goal to seek out new life and new civilizations. It damn sure ain't okay in 2016.", Cougar half smiled.
"You may think you are cool by allowing me to wear a woman's uniform on the Providence and talking and speaking to me as if I am a she but it does not prove a thing or show acceptance to others. I know you believe. You are a Vulcan. You live in a world of logic, no matter what your human appear shows. You know that I cannot control who I am. It is the rest of the world that cannot see that.", Cougar lectured.
"So you stand angrily against it keeping your feelings of love hidden. You think this is about displays of sexual love. This is not about that at all. This is about displays of the joy that comes from love. Wolf and I are in love. We are not sexually perverse like Click and Victoria or Christine and Bell. Our relationship is beyond just love. I can smile because I know that in my heart he is with me. I just want you to know that it is okay for you to have that joy too.", T'Zohl looked at Cougar.
T'Zohl invited Terry and Cougar to join her and Wolf for supper. There was nothing sexual in the conversation. They were stories of brilliant flying form T'Zohl, Wolf and Cougar and stories of the joy of being a Coren in the Betazoid Alliance. There were smiles and laughter. There were toasts and cheers.
Cougar walked outside. She looked up at the evening sun and back at Terry. She walked forward and lowered her arms.
Terry looked at her, "What the hell are you doing?"
Cougar looked at her male lover, "I am feeling love."
Terry looked at her, "What?"
How could he know? This was a moment shared between a Captain T'Zohl and her officer. She was in love; rich Vulcan love... A logical connection.
