When Alexander Laree and Illyan Coren left for the academy, Zoe assumed command of the prison. She could handle the position. She commanded the marines in wartime. Next to that, the prison was a cakewalk but the immense political pressure to have a male warden in the prison was too much for Deveniss to bare as the King's Fleet Chief of Staff.
He was going to remove Zoe. He had already approached Hawkins. The Talosian did not want the job. He hated the scum that was imprisoned there.
Zoe looked at Dev, "What if I could still do it?"
Zoe suggested that she could undergo humanization and return to 2016 as a male. Zoe even suggested that she would honour her adoptive father, Colonel Mark Smythe by returning as Mark Beamon, Warden of the King's County Jail.
Deveniss accepted her battle plan. Zoe had her heartbroken by Illyan's choice to return to 2396. The pair had formed a very nice romance.
Mark Beamon immediately put the prison in order. He then returned to the Renaissance to get some rest and to come to grips with his new role and his new body. He walked into his apartment.
He walked into the bedroom to find Ophelia Coren sitting on the bed.
Mark looked at Ophelia, "What are you doing here?"
"I have accepted a position as the beautiful wife of the prison warden in 2016.", Ophelia smiled.
"I never posted for such a position.", Mark looked at Ophelia.
"Deveniss thought it would add to your credibility. He referred to a study which found the most successful prisons were ran by married men.", Ophelia whispered.
"I don't think I am ready for this.", Mark was truly scared.
"You had a relationship with Nicole Branson. You know how to please a woman.", Ophelia smiled.
"Oh I can do that.", Mark grinned.
"I just don't know what to do with this.", he grabbed his crotch.
"Oh I can help you with that.", Ophelia pulled Mark onto the bed.
Mark woke up still smiling over what happened the night before. He could smell bacon cooking. He walked out to the kitchen. Ophelia was still in her negligee but was cooking bacon and eggs.
"I gotta make my man a good breakfast.", Ophelia smiled.
