Christine T’Nley helped found the Omega News Network at the Omega Academy under Rear Admiral John Anderson. She was just a student broadcaster then but she followed Nicole Branson around the universe covering the colonists as the Camelot Broadcasting System and for the Federation Broadcasting Network.
Christine was known for writing the damning personal interest stories that covered the love lives of Branson and others but she also covered Cardassian politics and Romulan politics. She was an award winning journalist.
Then it happened! Starfleet and the United Federation of Planets in their infinite wisdom decided that centralized control of all creative properties was more important than the support that was provided by the regional fleet authorities. Christine was suddenly out of a job.
The officers were given the opportunity to re-enlist with Starfleet proper. Many did. The civilians however were just left living on colonies a long ways from Earth, Romulus or Vulcan. Christine was left without anything to do. She was content to live out her life in the colonies. She was done.
The appearance of the Multiverse Rift was suddenly a major news event but no one was covering it. In fact, President Earl LaBarbera has flat out denied it existence or any influx of refugees. Admiral Walter Wilson has also said the events of the Multiverse Rift are purely works of fiction and any interaction between the colonists of a Badlands 827 are just the activities of anarchists and have no connection to the Multiverse Rift.
Christine T’Nley has been able to reconnect with her one true love General Belvedere Brown. Christine read a letter from Admiral Walter Wilson forbidding her from using words like Galactic Empire or New Republic in her news posts as well as referring to technology like the Tie Interceptor or the Millennium Insectia. Christine was furious as she read the private message stating that she cannot refer to Lady Thylara as being from Takadona or Cirrus Bipton as being a Mon Calamari.
Bell came in and she slammed the tablet into his chest, “Censorship!”
Bell looked at the message, “These are not the easiest of time, Christine. The Imperial Cardassian Union is a real threat and if they get a Star Destroyer they will become a Universal power. Starfleet and even us, the King’s Fleet are doing everything we can to prevent that level of advancement. Anything that undermines those efforts is dangerous.”
“What the hell am I supposed to do in the meantime?”, Christine snarled showing her Romulan side.
The large bulldog faced Antican grabbed her hips, “I can think of something.”
Christine was still coming to grips with the fact that her boyfriend was once again a big dog like alien but Bell was a good man who treated her well, protected her and made her feel safe.
Christine was soon on the floor on her elbows and knees. She was happy that once again the King’s Fleet exists as an outlet for her writing soul. She was happy that the King’s Fleet exists as a place of acceptance where an Antican and a Vulcan Romulan hybrid can be a couple.
This was a safe place. This was a good place.
