Industrial replication has been a godsend to colonization. It was Admiral William Hunt of the Phoenix Federation who first proposed the theoretical possibility of using the energy to mass technology that has made the United Federation of Planets utopias possible could be used to make actual structures.
It was Bajoran Engineer Colonel Acrylos Teero who took the theory and made it a reality allowing the Phoenix Colony to flourish and allowing the worlds of the Federation to build cities on the colony. The amazing technology has allowed the King’s Fleet to colonize many worlds afterwards and has spread throughout the regional Fleet authorities and even into Starfleet.
The technology has allowed Nicole Branson and the King’s Fleet Civilian Authorities to turn a rock on the fringes of the Badlands into a liveable colony. It has allowed the pod city to house the falling Imperials and Rebels to built almost instantly and for the assimilation process to begin for these new races. It is this utopia that has allowed integration to occur. Hell Admiral Rence Devreon is commanding a King’s Fleet vessel.
The technology was never intended to bastardized in this way. Starfleet engineering has never embraced robotic technology in the same way as the Republic or the Imperials had in their universe.
The Separatist history in Imperial Space is a well known story. The Separatists armed themselves with droid armies to battle the Republic and very nearly succeeded in bringing down the empire before it even formed under Palpatine.
Nute Kaffee was made possible by the blurring of the timelines in the Multiverse Rift. The Nemoidian was part of the separatist history. Now armed by the Hutt with Industrial Replication, the Ambassador has been able to build a massive droid army.
The Cardassians had been devastated by their choice to align with the Founders and the end of the Cardassian War. Although recovery had occurred under Minister Elim Garak, known as the Castellan, the Cardassians were nowhere near where they once were.
To make matters worse, the rise of Darth Varno and an alliance with Emperor Amero Devreon had led to a Starfleet military response that had restored Minister Garak but left Cardassia brutalized by war once more.
It was very sad to see the Droid Commander parading Minister Garak through the streets. The Trade Federation now occupies the Cardassian Union. Nute Kaffee is now a Hutt figurehead and the Bajorans should already feel threatened.
This is not an Imperial Uprising with an army of hundreds. This is a Separatist Movement with an army of thousands and growing. It is not restricted by cloning or independent thought.
