The Bajoran people are known for their adaptability and their warm hearts. Even the Cardassians took Bajorans as Comfort Women. Their peaceful nature lead them to continue to work for Starfleet in several Starfleet Medical and Botanical Initiatives.
Bajoran coffee is the stuff of legend. Some of the survivors of Cannibal Camelot served the King’s Fleet at Ephyra and learned of the magical flavour. Trade in Bajoran coffee has linked the Bajoran Militia to Starfleet Medical. The Olympic Class Vessels were ideally suited for growing coffee and for helping others.
Professor Olwood Daag has proclaimed himself a Barash. He claimed to be just a random Grey alien. He learned of the Bajoran obsession with sharing the delight of their coffee. It may be an opportunity to discover a salvageable vessel.
Olwood or Ollie had developed a friendship with Dr. Starr LaBarbara during the time on Cannibal Camelot. Dr. Daag required a lot less food. He was able to give some of his rations to the daughter of the President. She promised the alien that she would one day be able to pay him back.
Olwood went to see Starr. The Barash alien told his human friend that the botanical vessels would likely have hidden during the Romulan attacks. He looked at Starr, “You are a botanist . If you were aboard an Olympic Class Vessel near Bajor, where would you hide?”
“I know the strategy Ollie but I do not know the Sector. We need our Captain.”, Starr looked at her alien friend.
“Branson? Can she be trusted? She is with Caitlin Wu of Section 31. I am learning.”, Dr. Olwood Daag looked at Dr. LaBarbara.
“She is a great lady.”, Starr looked at Olwood.
Tania and Caitlin were soon in the Station briefing room. Olwood told them of his theory of finding an Olympic Class vessel along the Bajoran trade routes. Tania began pulling up star maps looking at Bajoran trade routes.
Olwood looked at Agent Wu, “I have had time aboard the station to study your organization, Agent Wu. I am trying to understand why you stay in the King’s Fleet.”
“Section 31 has a singular goal. Section 31 would like to maintain the status quo. I stay here because for whatever reason Nicole Branson and Vincent Viceroy seem to be always around the action.”, Caitlin spoke with an eerie calm.
“Why Captain Branson?”, Olwood looked at Caitlin.
“She was captured by the Borg. She survived. She inspires me.”, Caitlin gushed.
Starr looked up, “There! That asteroid. It has a large mineral base. It could reflect the energy necessary to keep a botanical garden functional for an extended period of time.”
“Perfect.”, Tania responded.
“I will contact Captain Sanders. The Providence can take us there.”, Tania smiled.
“And you expect them to just turn over a ship they have been hiding for two years?”, Starr looked at Tania.
“No, Dr. LaBarbara, I don’t. We are pirates. We are gonna take it.”, Tania smiled.
On February 1, 2295, Captain Tania Branson and the crew of the USS Archangel took command of the USS Congo at Asteroid 810. Captain Branson addressed the Bajoran staff indicating the intentions of the King’s Fleet to restore order in the region. She spoke of Viceroy and Branson, of Starfleet and the Federation. Tania also confessed to her service as the Communication Adjunct to the Borg. As 2 of 10, she coordinated the attack at Wolf 359. She killed thousands of men and women through her actions. Honesty is the only policy. It is the foundation of the King’s Fleet.
Tania stood with Caitlin, Starr and Olwood, “You must decide.”
There was a lot of chatter. They have been hiding for two years. This was a chance.
The group looked at Tania, “We will only be medical support.”
Tania smiled, “Stellar Cartography, Botany and Medical Support will be our role in the King’s Fleet. Providing food and medical support will help restore the region. It will not be war. The King’s Fleet is too small to bring peace to the region through war. It must bring peace through action, honour and integrity.”
