Ambassador S’Likk is known for her arrogance. Her cocky holier than thou genius has been known to the King’s Fleet for a decade. She is very, very smart. She knows a lot about everything and her genius would likely be unrivalled perhaps in the entire known worlds. The trouble, as with so many of genius level Intelligence connection is impossible. No one can connect on that intellectual level.
In recent times, the X Wing pilot Jackson Harris had tried to break the barrier and was even having some success until the Section 31 purge had killed the pilot. S’Likk was forced to confront emotion for the first time in a long time. Death and loss are so powerful. Words cannot describe the pain.
Since the Quest Extraction, S’Likk was given command of the Med Bay. Though not technically a doctor, her genius would be invaluable with the variety of races in the known worlds. She was virtually a breathing encyclopedia. The decision to make her Chief Medical Officer did not sit well with Dr. Peneleaus Prang’Laar. Penny was pissed off and made her objections known to the arrogant Vulcan. They fought vehemently and loudly in Sickbay. It was hardly a logical approach by Ambassador S’Likk.
The Vulcan went to tactics to see Captain S’Nii. S’Nii was shocked to see S’Likk because they did not agree on Vulcan life. S’Likk then asked S’Nii the unthinkable, “How do you embrace your emotional side?”
S’Nii was shocked. Ambassador S’Likk then confessed that all the fighting energy between her and Penny had enticed different feeling in her heart. She was beginning to have and want an emotional connection with the doctor.
The ladies talked for hours about S’Nii and Lindsay, about life and about Vulcan.
Ambassador S’Likk confronted Dr. Prang’Laar in Sickbay. She looked at the Porcine faced Tellarite and confessed her feelings as bluntly and abruptly as she did everything else. The two had only fought, butted heads and argued. There was no connection in the mind of the Tellarite. Penny actually laughed at the confession and simply walked away.
Ambassador S’Likk was left with a new emotion…. Heartbreak.
She stood there for a long time. A single tear rolled down her cheek.
Penny was sitting on the bed. She looked up at the mirror. A million arguments over rank, protocol and logic filled her mind. She rubbed her face. She had been alone since a failed reunion with Nicole Branson. All the death and dismay around here, it can be horrifyingly lonely. S’Likk was beautiful. She could give her that.
No! No! No! She was an obstinate bitch. It would never work out. Penny lay in the bed trying to fall asleep.
Alone. Again.
