Vincent walked in with Bobbi-Lee on his arm. They looked radiant and have literally stolen the show at these galas. The Commodore has been the very picture of grace and style and Bobbi-Lee looks both beautiful and in love. They are an amazing couple.
Vincent walked over to Vice Admiral Branson, standing with Magenta Coren.
"I heard Brenna brought home a little friend.", Vincent toyed with Nicole.
"Oh...", Nicole whacked him with her purse. Magenta burst out laughing. She will never forget the look on Nicole's face. It was priceless.
"How long have you been here?", Vincent asked.
"Long time. Magenta and I came down to help Mary-Lou and Felicity set up. You?", Nicole responded.
"Not long. I had Federation business to take care of.", Vincent explained.
"What business is that?", Nicole asked.
"Landing our guest.", Vincent continued.
"Whose that?", Nicole asked, wondering about Hunt.
"Minister Elim Garak. He will serve as independent observer with Hunt injured on the Station.", Vincent explained.
"But Minister Garak is on the Tanmesad.", Nicole interrupted.
"You are correct.", Vincent responded.
The Minister walked in to much fanfare at the gala. People clapped and showed their support for the exiled Cardassian.
"But my mother is on the Tanmesad.", Nicole was almost shaking with excitement.
"That she is.", Vincent smiled as Commander Tania Branson walked into the gala.
Nicole had only recently learned of her mother's tragedy. She looked at Tania and then ran over and hugged. The women held each other as only a mother and daughter can.
Because of the Borg Incident, Tania was actually 2 years younger in age than her daughter. For the most part it was not very noticeable, but somehow today it was very apparent.
"I am so glad you are here.", Nicole whispered.
"I am too. A mother needs to hold her daughter.", Tania whispered wiping away tears.
"I love you, mom.", Nicole softly connected with her mother.
