Vincent was outside the courtroom pacing. He was standing there when Captain John Warren walked up, "I would like Captain S'Nii removed as Executive Officer of the USS Wrath of Prometheus."
"I am aware of the incident involving the Vice Admiral.", Vincent responded.
"Insubordination is a simple case for dismissal.", John barked.
"She is an impudent little bitch.", John blasted Vincent. It was unfair to attack the Commodore and very unprofessional. Though Warren is not known for his etiquette.
"And you are a contankerous old buzzard.", Vincent snapped back.
John looked at Vincent, "We need to do this."
"I agree but there is a problem. Captain S'Nii is a respected graduate of the Omega Academy and a representative of the Vulcan Council on the Phoenix Colony. If she is removed, Commander T'tan will resign as prosecutor and the Cleveland Powers Trail will be declared a mis-trial and Powers will have gotten away with it. Is Nicole Branson more important than the loss of production of Omega Sand and Dilithium or worth the loss of two fire fighters? She is alive. She is with her spouse. She is not physically harmed.", Vincent explained.
"So I have to put up the Vulcan.", John growled.
"Is she a competent officer?", Vincent asked.
"Yes.", John snapped.
"Is she good at her job?", Vincent asked.
"Yes.", John reluctantly responded.
"Damn.", he interrupted before Vincent could answer.
"The truth is we need her.", Vincent explained.
"Powers plays us all.", John snapped.
Vincent knew that John was exactly right.
