Commander T'tan is a special case on the Phoenix Colony. She has been the voice of reason for the Vulcan culture during the rise of the Empire of V'Ros. She has also been a dark spectre during the development of Vulcan Independence including kidnapping and even slavery. She remains an enigma of radiant beauty as she entered the Gala for the presentation of the Omega Cup.
Much to the chagrin of everyone present, the Vulcans had scored late in the second half and had defeated Omega Prime 2 - 1 to win the Omega Cup. Vulcan logic dictates the reason they won is because they are clearly better at the game of logic, skill and speed. Vulcans are faster, more logical and clearly more skillful than the humans. If we hear these words one more time during the gala, someone culd lose some teeth.
Commander T'tan turned every head with her entrance. Vincent Viceroy and Elizabeth Coren sat in a back table still not 100% in the open with everyone about their relationship. Many citizens of the colony were furious with Nicole Branson and Magenta Coren-Branson who were on the dance floor enjoying the evening even though Omega Prime had lost the game. Many citizens believed that the symbol of the civilian government should be more restrained. The truth is it is simply not in her nature. She is a flamboyant spirit.
Acrylos Teero, the famed Master Builder arrived with Felicity Powers on his arm. The pair should be classed as a couple. The Bajoran is now the only "customer" for the escort Felicity. She knows it and he knows but they cannot bring themselves to admit their relationship is being solidified.
Cole Porter and Christine T'Nley got up for a dance just prior to the presentation of the trophy. Vincent walked up to the stage. He thanked Mary Lou for the fantastic gala. She always did such a good job on these events. Vincent thanked the participants. Many were in attendance and many clapped their approval.
Vincent then called for Commander T'tan, Mayor and Chancellor of the Villa to come forward. Many Vulcans in the crowd cheered wildly for their leader. She remained an immensely popular symbol of the Vulcans on the Colony. T'tan took the trophy from Commodore Viceroy and held it in the air. She looked around the room, "I do not understand why you are all surprised that we won. We are Vulcans."
The words could have been spoken by Emperor V'Ros, they cut with such force through the crowd. There were some minor boos but the feeling at the core of these individuals was far worse than outward boos. Disgust is a word that comes to mind.
On Mondays, Commander Lindsay Viceroy, Operations Commander and Second Officer aboard the USS Wrath of Prometheus and Captain S'Nii, Executive Officer abaord the Prometheus often walk through a holographically created garden to discuss the week's activities. This garden was a place where their romance blossomed. Today, while others watched images of the Gala, they walked quietly wondering about the next mission assignment for the Colony and for the USS Wrath of Prometheus. S'Nii could tell her partner was struggling with the loss and worse yet with the words of Commander T'tan.
Lindsay sat down on the bench and slumped in her disappointment. S'Nii slowly sat down, "Commander T'tan does not speak for us."
Lindsay looked up, "You won, fair and square."
"Vulcans are better than humans. It is time to accept it.", Lindsay frowned.
"Not better, just different.", Captain S'Nii responded philosophically.
Lindsay looked up at the kind words.
"Besides, humans are better at one thing. Passion, Mon chere", S'Nii smiled.
Lindsay smiled back. The words perked her up.
S'Nii looked at Lindsay, "I believe we had a bet."
Lindsay chuckled, "Yep, the winner gets one passionate kiss."
S'Nii winked, "That way, we are both winners...."
