Christine stood in the headquarters of her mighty news network. Where once she was a single reporter reporting in brief segments to the Federation Broadcasting Network, she stands in the centerpiece of the Omega News Network with offices in five major centers on the Phoenix Colony.
Christine T'Nley looked out at the beauty of the Typhon Expanse skyline. The beautiful pinks and blues that have become a huge part of life on the colony. T'Nley thought a lot about what she had heard on Governor's Station. She wondered about what it would mean if the sky was suddenly changed; if it was not being protected by the weather grid.
Christine had her entire staff working on the coding. They wanted to; no, they needed to bring down the weather grid. Christine wanted the staff, students and inhabitants of the colony to know the real danger that they faced from the Tholians. This was clearly a case of "be careful what you wish for..."
"Ma'am, we are ready to try it.", the programmer responded.
"Go ahead.", Christine took one last look at the beauty of the Typhon Expanse. This may be the last time she will ever see it before it was left with nothing but the blackness she saw from Governor's station.
Christine looked out and frowned. It was worse than she could have imaged. The site was horrendous.
Panic filled the streets. The large dark oval rivalled anything and everything that had ever seen haunting the colony. Christine turned around as Commander Teero rushed into ONN.
"What the hell are you doing?", the Bajoran screamed.
"People need to know.", Christine turned around.
"Then report the news. Tell them about the grid but why send them into a panic.", Acrylos snapped.
Christine snapped back, "I only report the news."
"Oh yeah, by taking down my hologrid. That is sabotage, not reporting.", Acrylos shouted.
"You were lying to them. This is a civilian government with civilian rules not a Star Fleet or for that matter Phoenix Fleet colony.", Christine reminded the Chief Engineer.
Acrylos stormed out.
