Christine walked up to Vincent, "Is this how you handle security?"
"What?", the Commodore answered.
"The Vice President and most influential member of the Phoenix Federation, Nicole Branson is taken to Governor's Station via a civilian shuttle and a civilian pilot.", T'Nley blurted out.
"What? The Vice President has a private shuttle under the command of Geyn Cheko.", Viceroy looked puzzled. Christine should know this.
"Vice President Branson was taken to Governor's Station on board a civilian shuttle under the command of private pilot Anna Baxton.", Christine liked being one up on the Commodore.
Vincent looked T'Nley and then tapped his combadge, "Elora, how did Vice President Branson get to Governor's Station?"
Commander Vasa responded, "Governor's Tower is down. The Astronauts Battlegroup is jamming transporter signals. Captain Cheko had the day off. He and Lieutenant Wu are at the resort. I assigned a shuttle from Governor's Station."
"Which shuttle?", Viceroy snapped.
"I don't know. She made it safe and sound. What is the concern?", Elora responded.
"This is Commodore Viceroy calling Governor's Station, please respond.", Vincent tapped his combadge.
"Commander Vasa, go ahead Commodore.", Summer responded.
"Which shuttle was assigned to Vice President Branson?", Viceroy ordered.
"With the transporter grid being jammed by the Starbase 185 battlegroup, all shuttles were assigned to the King's Battlegroup. I sent a civilian shuttle.", Summer responded.
"To protect the Vice President during a crisis. What were you thinking?", Viceroy snapped.
"All shuttles were assigned, Commodore.", Summer was worried about her choice now.
"Where is the Vice President?", Viceroy shouted, more perturbed at T'Nley for breaking the event than at Vasa for assigning the civilian.
"She is on route to the USS Quasar Quest to open negotiations with Captain Paige.", Summer responded.
"How is she getting there?", Viceroy responded.
"Aboard the Baxton shuttle.", Summer frowned, knowing she had made the mistake.
"Damn.", Viceroy responded.
"If it is any consulation, she is a fine pilot. Commodore Tan vouched for her.", Summer responded.
Christine looked at Vincent, "You are supposed to be the smart one. How could you let this happen? A civilian looking after the most important asset."
"I never let this happen, T'Nley. It just happened.", Viceroy frowned.
"So just so we are clear, under your supervision, Colonel Goddard was brought to Kalama and kidnapped by the Klingons. Great security, Commodore. Great security. Now, somewhere up there, the Vice President of the Phoenix Federation is flying around with a civilian and NO security.", T'Nley mocked.
Vincent looked at Christine, "I think its time you left."
"ONN is gonna break this story on the evening news. Should be a good one. Further evidence that this whole mess is as a result of poor leadership. Nice job, Commodore.", Christine grinned walking out like the cheshire cat who just caught the mouse.
