So this is what we have become? On the suspicions of the military industrial complex, the Phoenix Colony arrests the Federation Liaison Officer without evidence and even without trial. Rather than hold her on the colony, she is held on Governor's Station. This was supposed to be refuge from these horrors. All could come to the colony to find freedom, honor and even a home. How is Shianna Baxton at home? She is a prisoner and now thanks to these events she is forever a convict in the eyes of public opinion. She betrayed the colony, no matter what the circumstances. This is how everyone will see her.
Now, on her word, the word of someone already identified by the leadership as a liar and a decietful, if unknowning spy, we arrest Jo Jo Viceroy, a former academic darling of the Omega Academy. Her boyfriend Harper Todd of the legendary Star Fleet Marine Todd family is left begging ONN for support. Jo Jo has served admirably on the Providence for 2 years and this is how we repay with the deep seated fear and wrongful imprisonment.
Now we learn that Caitlin Wu and the "so-called" Rear Admiral Vincent Viceroy were involved in a scheme to put the military back in power. Not only did they succeed but they got Viceroy a promotion. Well played but the same underhanded tactics that led to the formation of the Phoenix Federation. Star Fleet Intelligence often points out the horrors of Section 31 but their history is not very clean. Now we act just like them. The hogs are in the farm house as George Orwell would say. Some animals are more equal than others.
Furthermore, the alleged Federation candidate Cleveland Powers literally screwed Governor Coren out of the job. The graphic image used to cause his resignation is now discovered to have been leaked to ONN by Powers himself. Nothing is done here without thinking ahead. Powers will be a powerful advisory and could very well be the governor. Now evidence suggests that he and fellow "trader" Zek Ishka, the Ferenginar are together in the quest to gain the seat of Governor and to control the Omega Sands distribution.
Now, ONN has learned that Magenta Coren and Elizabeth Coren are going to make a play for the Governorship as well to further Betazoid Interests and ensure the Dilithium supply for the Federation member. A move that has strained the relationship between Nicole and Magenta once more.
The colony is in good hands. The Vice President can hardly raise her thieving rebelling daughter let alone run the colony. The Rear Admiral and interim Governor schemed to get the power allegedly to protect the colony from Star Fleet. These people are dangerous.
No wonder there is such a rush to select a civilian governor.
ONN is not without its flaws and bias' My vote remains for Cole Porter...
