Working as Commanding Officer of the USS Princess Diana in the King's Battlegroup in service to the Phoenix Federation did not prepare Captain Casper Wells for every eventuality.
Casper is brash, cocky and confident. He is definitely his father's son. His defection to Star Fleet did not come as a total surprise. There was no doubt that he would be decades before he would or even could replace Captian John Warren as Captain of the King's Battlegroup Flag Ship. He was doomed to fly patrol until such time as he was capable of more. He was simply not prepared to wait.
The USS Washington is an amazing ship. The galaxy class would rival anything in the Kings or the Black Dragon Battlegroups in the Phoenix Fleet. She is the flag ship of the Killers and serves as one of the best ships in the region, Romulans included.
She may have been too much ship for Casper as he passed through a Solar Remnant Array near Lambda Hydrae. The Remnant Array stopped all activity on the ship effectively leaving her dormant in the sun's ray. Now she is stuck there. Casper did manage to get off one call... To his father, Admiral William Wells on the USS Black Dragon.
Casper is a lot of things. Siding with Admiral Dominic Montgomery and Star Fleet makes him a defector. Breaking the heart of Commander Tania Branson makes him an asshole. Nicole Branson's relationship with the Montgomery's makes his defection even worse. Casper's arrogance did not endear him to the colony staff.
Now William Wells, an Admiral and one of the longest serving members of the Phoenix has come to the colony and its brain trust with a request, to help Capser and the Federation Starship Washington.
Will everyone be able to get past the fact that this is Casper Wells and the USS Washington and...
