The appearance of seven Romulan War Birds turned the skies around Betazed into something of a war zone. No one could have believed that such an alliance could form let alone be successful.
On October 1, 2392, The Romulans attacked Betazed under the authority of Praetor T'Ros of Romulus and a surprise, Chancellor T'Ora of the Vulcan Intellectual Continuity movement. The Romulans were well prepared, very well organized and their understanding of the battle plans of Admiral Alexander Laree were simply overwhelming.
The task force moved from First Corinthians Station to the Betazoid Colony of Camelot. Within hours of the initial attack, the King's Fleet suffered the devastating loss of the USS Kah'Less King, the Borg Cube V and the IRW Princess Diana. It is being called the night the sky hailed Pods. The vast number of crew members were left falling from the sky in the worst incident since the Retarnee attack on the Phoenix Colony.
Two shocking events will mark a drastic changein the King's Fleet history: First, Commander Saehir Marrus refused to use the Princess Diana against fellow vessels in the King's Fleet resulting in a mutiny aboard the Diana and the defection of the mighty vessel to the T'Ros - T'Ora alliance. Marrus would be put off the vessel in a pod of her own. Second, the destruction of the Borg Cube V, the once feared Black Knights of Amleth Prime resulted in several pods being ejected from the cube. This release resulted in protection of the pods by the USS Independance. The Federation ship protected the falling pods. This marks the first time that the King's Fleet and Federation have been seen as working together in a long time.
On October 1, 2392, the Betazoid Alliance has recognized the authority of occupying Admiral T'Ora of Vulcan and has formally recognizing her authority as head of the Betazoid Alliance.
Admiral T'Ora has announced that she will recognize the charter agreement for the Betazoid colony of Camelot. She has also pledged to continue to operate the university on the colony.
The Vulcan authority has informed the King's Fleet that the Alliance cannot support any other vessels being assigned to the King's Fleet for fear of it being a threat to the Vulcan authoirty and the Betazoid Alliance.
Admiral T'Ora has also pledged to repatriate many Vulcans to Betazed as the new Vulcan homeworld. It will be interesting to see how the Vulcans respond to T'Ora using the Romulans to get power in Betazed.
