Nicole was trying to get a colony up and running. She did not have a lot of time to deal with a student letter but she did read the letter from Libby Gral. She recognized the name. She and Lily once had a brief fling.
The letter was a request from Libby to help convince her father to let her come to Medara. Nicole hitched a ride on Quest out to Tellar Prime.
She learned that Admiral Leopold Gral had gone on a pilgrimage into the mountains after losing his daughter, Lily in the Romulan annihilation.
Nicole went out to see Leopold.
She and the Admiral had a long talk about the loses of Jaskal, Jonel, Pra and Lily. She then talked about Libby and letting her go to the Academy. Nicole is a politician. She can be very persuasive.
Leopold looked at Nicole, "She can go. Only if you look after her."
