Tegora Vasa was in over her head as Governor of Darona. She had no idea how powerful the rebellious colony's underground could be. The colony has always been a thorn in the side of the Betazoid government and the victory by the USS Quasar Quest did not quell the underground. Tegora became embroiled in a bitter power struggle with the local Betazoid population and it soon forced her government into disarray. Tegora was embarrassed and ashamed.
Despite the begging from Illyan Coren, President of the Beta Zeta Alliance and head of the Olive Branch, Tegora resigned her position. Illyan was very afraid that the anti-Betazed movement would once again gain stream and the recent cooperation within the Beta Zeta Sector would be totally lost. There was not a Betazoid loyalist person who would take on this role and face the same level of embarrassment and ridicule heaped upon Tegora Vasa.
Illyan believed that his new coalition which had produced Magenta and Destiny would be lost. Illyan went to Libby Gral. He knew that she was popular amongst the Tellarites who had been transplanted in the early transformation of Darona. He knew that she could get the population to support her and she could become Governor.
Libby was excited at the opportunity. She went to tell Nicole. Nicole was once again deeply hurt. She thought they had reconciled and Libby was not going to be ten hours away by starship. Libby told Nicole that they could make it work but Nicole knew that it was not going to be true. She told Libby that she would try but she thought their relationship was once again derailed.
Libby went to Darona to begin her campaign but was shocked that even amongst her own people, there was the belief that she would be nothing more than a puppet for Nicole Branson. Libby had to distance herself from Nicole. Libby truly believed that they could keep their relationship going up to that point.
Libby then did the unthinkable. She told her own people that she was only with Branson because the human had an unquenchable lust for her people. She told the Tellarites that although their appearance often sees them discriminated as "pigs" that it was Branson who was the unquenchable slut and the pig in their relationship. Libby released to OWN some very private and intimate pictures of Nicole Branson.
OWN audiences lapped up the images.
Tellarites on Darona were soon throwing their support behind Libby Gral who continued to portray herself as the victim to the insatiable lust of Nicole Branson. Even back on Medara, Branson was being portrayed as the "pig lover" and accused of giving too much attention to Libby Gral and not to the affairs of the colony or the capital. Branson's government was beginning to see the same cracks that brought down Dr. Tegora Vasa.
Nicole retreated into the governor's office dealing with day to day activities but not being seen in public for fear of facing the ridicule brought on by OWN and by the actions of Libby Gral. The sad truth is Brenna warned her. The young lady was more intuitive than her own mother.
Nicole was just trying to save her job. Nicole was beginning to believe her life was over. She had to sneak back into her own house. She was terrified that this was going to all end for her. She sulked as she watched the OWN evening broadcast before heading up to her bedroom.
Nicole walked into the bedroom to be started by Acalyn Azoone. The young lady had nearly accosted her aboard First Corinthians and now there she was... in the bedroom.
Acalyn looked at Nicole, "It could work for us."
Nicole started to tear up, "Are you sure you want to be a part of this?"
"An insatiable human whose only focus is having sex with a Tellarite does not seem like a bad thing to me.", Acalyn teased.
Nicole gave a half smile. Acalyn grabbed her and pulled her on to the bed.
