When Belvedere Brown resigned as the head of Starfleet Command, he believed he would return to the King's Fleet and everything would be like it was before. He hoped to step back into the chair as Head of the King's Fleet Marines only to be told that the Dogs of War had been relegated to a unit of the marines and that he would be given the rank of Colonel and given his unit to rebuild his reputation. Everyone was furious with the lack of action when the Romulans invaded. Everyone had lived through the loss of Cheron VI and felt that Starfleet should have intervened.
