Nicole called Brenna into the house and she had replicated a cool supper and she had also gotten some cool Star Fleet PJs for the pretty little nine year old. Nicole put Brenna in front of a subspace screen. Brenna was watching some cartoons when the Hunt announcement came on. Nicole ran over and closed the screen. Brenna did not need to see that stuff.
Brenna looked up, "Is Admiral Hunt the enemy?"
Nicole sat down and put her arm onto Brenna's shoulder, "Admiral Hunt is NOT the enemy."
Brenna looked at Nicole, "The broadcast said that Admiral Hunt is a fugitive."
"Sometimes good people have to do bad things to make everyone understand what freedom really is.", Nicole explained.
Brenna smiled, "I am glad to be free of the Salarians. I know what freedom is."
"You sure do.", Nicole smiled, knowing that Brenna had no idea how severe the actions of Admiral Hunt really were.
"Of to bed.", Nicole giggled as she tickled Brenna.
"But in the Wells City Complex, we could stay up until 9:00 pm.", Brenna whined.
"Of to bed.", Nicole giggled shooing her upstairs.
Nicole was coming down the stairs when the PADD chimed. Nicole thought it did was the fact that she had forgotten to properly shut it down. She picked it up. The image of Dr. Orchid Coren appeared.
"Nicole, do you want to go the Commune and talk?", Orchid asked.
"I can't. I have Brenna now.", Nicole answered.
"Brenna?", Orchid asked.
Nicole sent Orchid the files on Brenna Montgomery, bio and recent history.
Orchid read for minute and then looked back at the viewer, "Can I come over?"
Nicole thought about it for a moment, "Ok."
About a half an hour later, Orchid showed up. Orchid just stood there for a moment. She just did not know what to say. She could not help believe that she was somehow responsible for all the chaos that Nicole had experienced.
"So you have a kid now?", Orchid finally broke the silence.
"Yep.", Nicole responded matter of factly.
"Does it change things?", Nicole asked.
"Not at all.", Orchid started to cry.
"Why are you crying?", Nicole asked reaching out to hug Orchid.
"I only wanna be with you.", Orchid cried.
