"What if we just admit that the invasion is a failure?", Gareb looked at Admiral Shah.
"We cannot. We have done too much damage. We destroyed a station. We captured a ship and we have probably caused the death of 50,000 Klingons. We are over extended and we are losing some 10,000 of our people to an ancient disease. Andorian shingles...", Trmel looked at Gareb.
"You are prepared to let our people die rather than admit the Armada is over extended.", Gareb snapped.
"How are we going to save face, Gareb? How?", Shah snapped.
"What if we staged a huge loss to Chancellor Larle and his forces? The Klingon Empire would be restored in a victory over the invading Armada but would not be able to move beyond its borders. Effectively our goal of a two superpower Cold War would be established.", the former President of the Federation spoke like a true politician.
"With the Klingon victory, we would lack the ships to perform an exodus. We could be stuck here.", Admiral Trmel Shah looked at Gareb.
"The King's Fleet could provide the vessels for exodus.", Gareb looked at Trmel.
"Please. We killed Peter Warren. We took the Bolt. We destroyed the cha'paj. We did those things. Why would they help us?", Trmel Shah scoffed.
"Establish a link with Nicole Branson. I will explain our goal. We will reestablish Chancellor Osama Larle and the Klingon Empire. We will sacrifice some of our vessels. Branson will understand the benefits of a strong vision of the Klingon Empire. She used to be the President of the United Federation of Planets. She will do the right thing.", Gareb looked at Trmel.
"Are you willing to stand on the edge of a Klingon station and wait for her decision?", Trmel looked at Gareb.
"I have to.", Gareb looked out the stars.
