Colonel Zoe Beamon sat on the floor of the Cardassian Ship Building Platform near Cardassia IV bleeding. She had been shot in the abdomen by a stormtrooper. She had set up her detonator. The Platform will be destroyed. Her job is done ven though she will not be able to escape.
Zoe was going to test her battle cry. Zombies, you can’t kill us, we are already dead! Zoe thought of her father, a Bolian General in Starfleet. She hoped he would be proud of her. She thought of her service to many vessels and stations but she thought of her start aboard the USS Arizona.
Zoe thought of her relationship with Nicole Branson and even with Commander T’tan of Vulcan. She wondered what they would think of her in her passing.
Like all persons faced with imminent death, she began to bargain with whatever god would listen. She promised to love whoever would rescue her forever. Explosions started to go off. Zoe felt her would twitch. She was losing consciousness due to the severe pain.
Zoe felt someone pick her up and carry her to a shuttle. She was laying in her back when she opened her eyes to see her benefactor.
Bill Clinton got his name from Nicole Branson on the Phoenix Colony after she refused to refer to them by their Vulcan worker license number. He had actually befriended Brenna Montgomery on the colony. He knew Colonel Beamon. He had accepted citizenship on Badlands 827 in exchange for a two year hitch in the military.
Zoe squinted at The Migrant, “I thought I was dead.”
Bill looked at her, “We are Zombies! You can’t kill us we are already dead!”
Zoe gave a half smile as Dr. Lalara Shran came in to help her fellow blue skinned alien. Zoe thought about her bargain with death. She thought about the bug like aliens raised as migrant workers by the Vulcans.
The colonists thought they were done with all this.
