Vincent was not to happy to be summoned to the DRS. No one summons him. Eugenio and Elizabeth had prepared a wonderful gala. Elizabeth charmed Vincent and even suggested that he should have brought Bobbi-Lee.
Vincent finally spoke out, "Ok. What the hell is this?"
"Easy.", Tim walked in holding a tray of hos d'ouevres.
"You are right. There are ulterior motives.", Admiral Velktamp told the meeting of the senior military staff on the colony.
Eugenio looked at Vincent, "The United Federation of Planets is pleased to offer ground support troops to the effort to occupy the Tamarian city of Tokyo."
Vincent stood up and frowned, "Of course, the most dangerous part is over and now you want to step in to get the glory."
Tim frowned, "It is not like that."
Eugenio passed the wine bottle to Vincent, "The only thing the Federation would like in return is a seat on the Territory Omega Council."
"So that is how it starts. You appear to the rest of the universe to be the heroic benefactor when it is a secret plot to be a part of our government. The plot to create civil war is now over. Time to switch to second gear.", Vincent mocked.
The Rear Admiral stood up, "We are done here."
Tim looked at Vincent, "The United Federation of Planets is not the enemy, Admiral."
"They are not the enemy, Veltkamp, but they are far from friends.", Vincent reminded the Military Commander in Chief.
