Nicole watched the ONN broadcast about the end of the war in Kalama and shocking image captured by the outer cameras on the edge of the city and reports from the Klingon Key expedition in search of the chalice of Kahless.
The image of the giant ape like creature was creating a buzz on the colony. Research groups from the Omega Academy, the Villa and even Vorta'Rome were now asking permission to enter the Togre Reservation both from the Phoenix Colony government and from Chief Tokken. Everyone wanted to get the credit for discovering the new race.
Nicole smiled. She loved the new race being about science and not about war. She had learned from Brooklyn that the Betazoid Space Service would be returning with Lavender Coren on board today. Nicole came up to Governor's just to meet her. The time apart had given her a lot of time to think. The time under the Christmas Tree had also given her a special memory.
Lavender got off the shuttle. She had remained an extra few days to spend some time with her father Illyan and her mother Loiza. She talked to them at length about Nicole, about the Corens on the Phoenix Colony and about life in the Phoenix Federation. Lavender talked to her mother about Magenta and about her feelings. Loiza wanted to make certain that Lavender was not transferring the shared feelings between her and sister to Nicole.
Lavender looked at Nicole. She could not help herself, she ran over and gave her a hug. She looked at Nicole. Nicole started to speak. Lavender looked at Nicole, "I have to speak."
The words touched Nicole right to her heart...
"I would love to be yours.", Nicole whispered fighting back tears of joy.
