Admiral Alexander Coren spent the day with his brother Eugenio before beginning the six week journey back to Betazed. The wormhole had already closed and he no longer had the miraculous access to the Alpha Quadrant.
Acrylos looked out the windows of Second Corinthians and then turned to Nicole, "If we could figure out how to open this or keep this open, we would have the discovery of the century."
Nicole looked out overwhelmed by the physics of wormhole theory. Teero had written a ton of equations on the whiteboards in the engineering lab on Second Corinthians. Nicole had seen the equations before. She was the Dean of the Academy. She however knew little what all the string theory and M-theory equations actually meant.
Teero looked at the formation of the wormhole. He was a very smart man. He had built many cities on the surface. He had helped rebuild Governor's Station. He had built Second Corinthians out of the junk of the Beta Quadrant. He however just could figure out how to get the wormhole to open.
Acrylos Teero had served on the Tanmesad. He had seen the wormhole at Amleth Prime in the Cardassian Sector. He had been to the Azure Nebula on board the Tanmesad, the Quest and the Diana. He had seen the wormhole, even spent some time with Dr. Celetrialla "Teal" Greene, one of the well known stellar cartographers ever in the region. He still did not know how to open the wormhole.
Teero and Branson were stunned when the wormhole suddenly opened. Acrylos tapped the combadge, "What the hell just happened?"
There was no response. Nothing had happened on the station to trigger the opening.
"Perhaps its the will of the prophets.", Nicole tried to sound profound.
"Please do not mock my faith.", Acrylos glared at Nicole.
"I meant no disrespect, Colonel.", Nicole frowned.
"Only by the will of the emissary can the prophets be called forth.", Acrylos looked at Nicole.
Nicole looked at Acrylos, "Perhaps the emissary has arrived."
There was a long pause. Acrylos tapped his combadge, "Has anyone arrived at the station in the last few moments?"
"No, Colonel. We have experienced no arrivals.", Lavender called from Station Ops.
"The only arrival into the colony space occurred moments ago at Governor's Station. Dominar Cillian arrived from Beta Carmac.", Lavender reported.
Acrylos burst out laughing, "The little gnome."
Nicole and Acrylos looked at each other. There was an awkward pause. Nicole finally broke the silence, "There is just no way."
The pair shared another laugh.
