The construction of New Governor's was proceeded according to schedule. Colonel Acrylos Teero has become the king of the industrial replicators. He can build anything. The new design will be even cooler than the two previous incantations of the legendary station. The systems were slowly coming on line as the construction moved from simple assembly to systems install.
Elora was doing some system testing when she made the discovery.
"Vincent, we have four Cardassian Galors on an attack vector.", Elora shouted into the comm barely functional across the networks.
"What? By whom?", Vincent demanded.
"Inform the surface immediately.", Vincent ordered.
"These are the ships of Legate Anwar of Cardassia. He believes that the Cardassian Empire can regain its past glory. He now stands as a rebel in the rise of Minister Garak and his Hebetian Parliament and he believes that establishing a Cardassian dominance in the region will serve as a base of operation in the rise of the his Cardassian Union, his Order of Anwar.", Vedek Kira responded from the surface.
Vincent walked into Station Operations, "Suggestions, Elora?"
"We need to meet him head on.", Elora responded.
"Cardassians respond to anger.", Elora continued.
"Inform Gul Enranet of our predicament and ask him to launch in our defence.", Vincent ordered.
"Inform him of the status and odds, 4:1. Inform him that we are no longer a Fleet, we cannot order him to stand for Ephyra. We are simply asking him.", Vincent reminded Elora.
Enranet read the order and looked to Tania, "Are you in?"
"If this is gonna be our new home, we must be willing to defend the home.", Branson looked at the Cardassian.
"We are launching against four Galors. We are alone. We are being asked to stand against tyranny.", Enranet looked at his troops.
Abby looked at Vash, "What are we waiting for?"
Vash smiled as they moved from hiding behind the Ephyra Colony to see the four vessels coming in.
"This is Legate Anwar of Cardassia, stand down USS / CGV Tanmesad, and prepare to allow the rightful leadership of Ephyra to land and assume command of the colony.", Anwar announced on all channels.
"This is Gul Vash Enranet, proud commander of the USS / CGV Tanmesad returning to the Alpha Quadrant as representative of the sovereignty-association agreement between the United Federation of Planets and the Hebetian Government of Cardassia and proud member of the King's Fleet, defenders of the Bajoran Colony of Ephyra.", Vash announced in response.
"Where is your fleet?", Anwar laughed.
"You have no fleet. I am a student of history, Gul Enranet. The King's Fleet parished with the Phoenix Colony. There is no fleet. There is only a refugee ship. There is no Hebetian Government, there is a terrorist in Lakaria. You will stand down or prepare to be destroyed. Arm all weapons.", Anwar proudly announced.
"This is Lieutenant D'Tall of Orion in command of the Gorn Special Forces Vessel Dragon ordering the vessels of Anwar to stand down and or prepare to be boarded!", D'Tall announced on all channels.
The Gorn Hegemony Vessel appeared into subspace. Enranet looked at Branson, "I thought the Dragons were lost on the surface."
"We were removed from the surface by the Gorn Hegemony.", Tanus announced on the channel.
"Someday, you must tell me the story.", Vash laughed.
"As you wish, Gul Enranet.", Tanus grinned.
"Stand down Cardassians!", the mighty Gorn shouted.
"It remains 4:2.", Anwar announced.
"We are prepared to take the colony by force if necessary.", Anwar continued.
The lead Cardassian vessel fired on the Tanmesad. The legendary vessel rocked violently. This was not a good sign. The opening battle in the history of Ephyra is a blast from the enemy.
"Shields holding.", Abby announced.
"You have to let the refugees have access to the ships.", T'tan looked at Elizabeth.
"I cannot. Branson killed my children! All of them.", Coren responded.
"If you don't, the Cardassians will kill you.", T'tan responded.
"I cannot!", Elizabeth looked at T'tan.
"They were my children.", Elizabeth cried out, thinking about Magenta and Lavender.
"If we don't stand against the Tyranny, it will come here too. There will be more death!", T'tan stared at her lover.
"I can't! I won't.", Elizabeth watched as the Cardassians began firing upon the Gorn vessel and the Tanmesad.
"They are gonna die. The colony is gonna fall under Cardassian control and the Cardassians will get Third Corinthians. How will Illyan think of you then?", T'tan mocked.
"Inform Captain Warren and Commander Keystone, they can have access to the Federation ships docked at Third Corinthians.", Vice Admiral Elizabeth Coren of the Betazoid Defence Force announced.
John walked onto the bridge of the mighty sovereign. He walked over to the Federation Plaque and slowly unscrewed the plate, "On behalf of Admiral Vincent Viceroy, I dub thee, the USS Quasar Quest, the Fourth Vessel to bare the name, and I launch thee in defence of the Ephyra Colony and in honor of the King's Fleet. God save the King."
Dawn walked up to the Federation Plague in the beautiful Galaxy Class and slowly removed the plate. She looked out the main viewer, "In honor of Captain Trista Coren and on behalf of Admiral Vincent Viceroy, I dub thee, the USS Princess Diana, sacrificed to the Borg and in honor of the Phoenix Colony to be reborn here in Ephyra to serve the King's Fleet. God save the King.", Dawn announced as the Galaxy moved to join the Tanmesad and the Dragon.
Elizabeth looked at T'tan, "Launch the fighters."
T'tan grinned, "It would be my honor, Liz."
Soon the Four Galors faced the Quasar Quest, the Diana, the Tanmesad and the Dragon as well as a swarm of fighters. Anwar looked around and saw Ephyra in a different light. She was a well defended planetoid.
Anwar announced on all channels, "This is not over!"
Enranet looked at Tania, "Inform Vedek Kira that the Cardassians are withdrawing!"
Tania grinned, "All is right in the Garden of Eden."
Vash looked at his First Officer and smiled, "Not just yet... But our time is coming, Commander. Our time is coming."
