"Are you certain, Elizabeth?", Illyan asked from First Corinthians orbiting Betazoid itself.
"I have spoken with General Nerah. He believes the Will of the Prophets will be made by the union.", Elizabeth answered.
"And the wormhole will open.", Illyan demanded.
"I have spoken to Captain Grey. He believes that the science of the wormhole can also be linked to a start up event as well.", Elizabeth answered.
"This has to work, Elizabeth. The Betazoid Alliance needs to get back into the Beta Quadrant. We need to re-establish trade.", Illyan demanded.
"You need to take steps to make this move forward.", Illyan ordered.
"How big of steps?", Elizabeth looked at the head of the Betazoid Alliance.
"Whatever is necessary.", Illyan responded.
Elizabeth looked at Orchid as she walked into the Ops Station at Second Corinthians, "This has to work, Dr. Lau. You understand the gravity of the situation."
"I have been fully briefed.", Orchid sounded more like Lasiter Lau than like Orchid Coren in that moment.
"And you believe in the will of the Bajoran Prophets.", Elizabeth looked at Dr. Lau.
"I don't have to, 5 million Bajorans in Ephyra do. They have learned the prophecy. They know that if Nicole and I are together, bound by love, the wormhole will reopen and access to the Beta Quadrant will be restored.", Dr. Lau explained.
"I have been authorized to take this up by a notch.", Vice Admiral Elizabeth Coren looked at Orchid.
"We need to reopen the wormhole.", Elizabeth demanded.
"I will do whatever is necessary to initiate a bound.", Orchid announced.
"Easy, Nicole. Go with it.", Orchid grinned.
Elizabeth looked at Autumn, "What are you seeing?"
"The wormhole is appearing, Vice Admiral.", Autumn looked back.
"Contact Captain Grey. Launch his shuttle. We need confirmation.", Elizabeth ordered.
Earl contacted the station, "The wormhole is now open."
Elizabeth clapped her hands, "Outstanding."
"Contact Admiral Illyan Coren.", Elizabeth ordered.
"Vice Admiral.", Autumn looked back.
"What is it?", Elizabeth responded very perturbed.
Autumn looked at Elizabeth, "The wormhole is closing again."
"What the hell is going on?", Elizabeth snapped.
"The union, it is not love.", Autumn looked at Elizabeth.
"Come on, Laree. This is no joke. The prophecy is just as a story. This is about timing.", Elizabeth snapped.
"What if it is real? What if Orchid and Nicole need to be in love for the wormhole to open?", Autumn looked at Elizabeth.
"Don't be a fool, Commander.", Elizabeth snapped.
"We are a culture built entirely on emotion, Elizabeth. Don't you think it would be ironic if that emotion was a power. It would be almost poetic.", Autumn looked Elizabeth.
Elizabeth looked at Autumn, "Confirm the status of the wormhole with Captain Grey."
"The wormhole has closed.", the wormhole alien announced.
"F**K!!!", Elizabeth stomped her feet.
Illyan announced on the comm, "Status update."
Nobody responded.
"Status update!", Admiral Illyan Coren responded.
Elizabeth looked at the HUD as Admiral Coren appeared hovering in an image.
"The engagement is a failure. Forcing the engagement was a misstep.", Elizabeth glared at Illyan.
"Where is Nicole now?", Illyan demanded.
"She has been released by Dr. Lau. All of progress is now for not. What is our next move?", Elizabeth looked at the screen.
"We have to open the wormhole, Liz. Figure out how.", Illyan ordered.
"Aye Admiral.", Elizabeth looked at the screen.
