Eetya looked Gul Neron standing next to the flame, “You disgust me.”
“Major, I am very sorry you feel that way.”, Kira Neron, the Cardassian dressed in Bajoran garb.
“I fought the Cardassians during the occupation. I can’t stand here and watch you co-opt our culture and claim our faith.”, Eetya glared at her commanding officer.
“The fact that you fought the Cardassians is why you are here. You should be very proud of standing up to a near insurmountable force. I need someone on the bridge who will do the right thing even if it looks like it’s a no win situation.”, Neron looks at Eetya.
“It’s why I felt the way I did when I first saw the Bajorans. I was with my people. My soul was home. My soul was with the prophets.”, Neron spoke with reverence.
Eetya walked away in disgust. Neron stared at the flame and prayed in silence.
