Commander Teero beamed back to the surface from New Netherlands. The Romulans would hardly monitor a single person beam in being concerned with arrival of marines from the USS Quasar Quest or the USS Yang Liwei. The truth is they should have been worried about the Bajoran Engineer. His expertise was honed which his elders on the Bajoran homeworld. Acrylos had been only a limited participant in the resistance but he had been an active learner.
Acrylos and Nicole engaged in a yelling argument in the Federation Complex. She was still claiming that she could not do this. Acrylos would have none of it. She not only could but she had to.
Soon Nicole and Acrylos were riding in a service car underneath the cities of the colony. Acrylos outlined a plan to bring chaos to the Romulan Occupation, to bring fire to the Phoenix. Acrylos explained that by capping the Geothermal vents in major parts of the city, they would virtually become bombs onto the themselves. Acrylos hurried Nicole along literally pushing her until they arouse in the city of Vorta'Rome. Acrylos chose the Romulan center to send his first message.
Together Nicole and Acrylos built caps. Nicole was a pencil pusher and a beauty queen. Her fingers literally bled as she worked lacking the callouses of an engineer. Nicole was nearly in tears as she laboured well into the night. Her uniform was literally torn and soaked with sweat.
Acrylos smiled and asked Nicole to jump up on one of the caps. Acrylos took out a painter and marked the cap with a single word. The Romulans were going to know that they should not have messed with Nicole.
Acrylos and Nicole were headed back to the underground bunker when the explosions began. Vorta'Rome will have its problems now. The Romulan Ground Forces will have to return to their capital or watch their city burn. The withdrawal from Omega Prime will allow the Dogs of War to take the Capital back.
The Romulans have picked on the wrong group. The Phoenix will not die... From the Ashes, the Phoenix will rise.
