Elizabeth looked at Marcus, "This is not going according to plan."
"The Bajorans should have fragmented the vote. They should have been so confused that the Betazoid population should have been able to allow me, Elizabeth Coren to become Governor.", Elizabeth complained.
"We have to eliminate some candidates. Contact Autumn Laree and the Snipers and go with Plan B.", Elizabeth ordered.
"Are you sure you want to go there?", Marcus looked at Elizabeth.
"It has to be done.", Elizabeth ordered.
Marcus looked at Elizabeth, "If Star Fleet finds out that Betazoid Alliance resources were used to influence the governance of a Bajoran Colony, we would be ruined."
Elizabeth looked at Marcus, "I have been playing this game a long time, Marcus. Star Fleet will not find out."
"Inform Caitlin Wu of our covert operation and the need to protect the interests of the Betazoid Alliance. She will ensure our tracks are covered.", Elizabeth demanded.
Within the hour, Vice Admiral Marcus Laree appeared to Chancellor Nicole Branson and Major D'Tall, "Commander Tania Branson will announce her resignation from the race for Governor and within the hour you will too or Tania will be killed."
Nicole looked at D'Tall, "It is over."
D'Tall looked at Nicole, "I have served in the Star Fleet Marines and now in the Star Fighter Corps. I have fought the Romulans and the Klingons and I have never seen anything as dark as this."
Nicole started to cry, "I wanted to be Governor. I wanted the opportunity to restore the faith of the people of Ephyra in that they had made the right choice by offering us asylum, by giving control of the colony to me."
D'Tall looked at Nicole as her mother beamed into the room. Tania looked at Nicole, "You did this for me."
Nicole turned to her mother and gave her a big hug.
