The Tellerites were one of the founding four races of the Federation and often appeared as dark skinned pig like creatures with nearly leather like skin. They were rarely seen with the human like skin that has been seen in recent contact here on the colony.
Dr. Peneleaus Prang'Laar, Special Agent Olivia Pan'Taar and Rosalie Prang'Laar appear with flesh like skin. The only remnants of the original Tellerite Appearance is the pig like nose and the large ears. This has always puzzled me. This was about integration in the Ephyran culture to facilitate a hostile takeover.
The death of Penny Prang'Laar and expulsion of Special Agent Olivia Pan'Taar put this on the back burner but the interest in the arranged marriage of Rosalie Prang'Laar and Nicole Branson peaked my interest in the origin of this new look for the Tellerites and their new genetic appearance.
Admiral Provo Prang'Laar began the manipulation by going to the Orion Syndicate and purchasing a human sex slave. This woman was used to breed out some of the less humanoid characteristics. Further research by the Betazoid Entertainment Technologies has uncovered the following photo.
The resultant child, Dr. Penny Prang'Laar became the genetic protocol programmed into the transporter used to clean out some of the less human traits. The results however Frankenstein-ian the methods, these more pleasing appearance has made the Tellerite influence more pallatible to the masses.
