A Post By Christine T'Nley & Rear Admiral Nicole Branson & Admiral Vincent Viceroy
Location: Omega Prime Chancellor's Office
Timeline: After the Systems are brought back on-line
Tag: All staff and students

Christine is known for asking the hard questions and now here on the planet she has ultimate control as both the Chief Information Officer and the primary news producer. Christine has immediately made her presence felt.

She cornered Nicole and Vincent on their way into the Chancellor's Lecture Theatre for the commencement speech for the next round of students.

"Rear Admiral Branson, do you think it is good use of Fleet Resources to build such outlandish buildings as this, the Chancellor's Office or the Globe building that is the Federation Offices on Outpost 294?", inquired Ms. T'Nley

Before Nicole could answer, Vincent, more experienced at this than she, responded, "The colony is a symbol of the Omega Fleet. Like the amazing Sigma Station Alpha orbiting above, the colony must be seen to be a symbol to citizens in the quadrant that the Omega Fleet protected area can be seen as safe, sound and honorable. These beautiful buildings are a tribute to the art background of our illustrious commander, Rear Admiral Branson."

Christine was pissed off that she was not able to put the inexperienced Branson on the spot, "Admiral, is it not true that your recent performance as Fleet Admiral of the King's Fleet and the inability to bring the Princess Diana online are the primary reason the King's Fleet is in disarray reduced to using the USS Hercules to haul around troops transfers, even for the Omega Fleet just to keep the fleet useful."

Vince was furious. He never expected such a viceral attack. Christine was a damn department head. He glared at her.

This time it was Nicole who acted as the peacemaker, "Ms. T'Nley, the colony respects your expertise and your outstanding award winning inquisitive nature but the activities of the King's Fleet are off limits within Omega Fleet territory. We are pleased to have formed an association with the USS Hercules to move troops, even such as yourself to the Colony and to help transfer our fine students to ships around the Omega Fleet Territory. We are pleased with our association with Admiral Viceroy and his fine staff who have helped feed the Omega Fleet with excellent members including his nephew Cameron who serves aboard the Tanmesad. Admiral Viceroy is a valuable asset to the colony, no matter how he arrived here."

Christine muttered under her breath, "Nice political answer"

Nicole was furious at the underhanded comment. She brushed by Christine, taking care to just barely push her. She had a speech to give. Vincent stopped at the top of the stair and glared back at Christine before entering the building.

"There you have it, the Colony is already wasting valuable fleet funds, funds that could be put towards expanding or improving the vessels to furnish the outlandish tastes of an art student and an ousted commanding officer. This is hardly an austentacious beginning. These are your funds as federation citizens. Do you think they are best served by extravagant globe shaped buildings for offices of Fleet Admiral Tim Veltkamp or Fleet Executive Officer Vice Admiral Nick Covington knowing that they will never be there. Each has more important things to do.", Christine spoke with her awesome delivery.

"As I look behind me to see the Chancellor's Office with its extraordinary Omega Oval entry, I cannot help but wonder... Has the Omega Fleet made a good decision...

This has been Christine T'Nley reporting for the Omega News Network and the Federation News Network at the Commencement Ceremonies for the Second Round of Classes at that Omega Academy.", Christine closed with her normal closure.

She looked at her staff and winked, "Too hard..."

There was muttering in response. Christine smiled again, "You can never be too hard... Journalism 101 folks. Journalism 101."
