After the images of Elizabeth Btah surfaced in bed with Admiral Marcus-Brutus Pan'Taar, Nicole swore off the Tellarites. She was going to find a nice human girl or perhaps a Betazoid and she was going to settle down as the Chancellor of the Nancy Branson Academy, named for her sister and she was done with her political aspirations as Governor of the colony or even as President of the Olive Branch.
Nicole had given up. She was content to mark exams, to congratulate recent graduates like Dr. Rhythm Dennsyon or Dr. Angeliss of Selay and to simply follow Governor Elizabeth Coren and the Betazoid leadership. If you can't beat them, join them.
Nicole was content to simply be a mother to her children, Brenna, Mac and even to Francine. She was done with failing relationships. She was done with it all.
Nicole was at the Academy when former USS Plato's Academy Executive Officer and current Academy Chief Tactical Officer Ophelia Prang'Laar was in the change room. Ophelia and Nicole had a very brief fling when she first came to the colony and was little more than a cheerleader at the Academy. Ophelia had grown so much. Nicole was in the change room to get into dress to attend the gala event to announce the new Mayor of Camelot. Ophelia was in the change room to get out of her uniform for a night on the town.
Nicole looked over and saw why she loved the Tellarites. Who could simply by-pass that?
Nicole spoke up but her voice cracked. She had not had that happen since she was a teenage girl. Ophelia chuckled, "Problems, you honor?"
Nicole looked at Ophelia, "You look very beautiful."
Ophelia winked but headed out.
Old feelings in Nicole Branson began to stir. Maybe this was not all over.
