When the Tellarite Fleet began to assemble near Darona, it was believed that Admiral Sonjac Naar'Haaj had decided to support the regional government of Governor Azalia Azoone and would defending the Beta Zeta Sector against Romulan expansionist Praetor Suran but in a shocking development, Sonjac Naar'Haaj has taken the colony of Darona in the name of the Tellarite Federation and has begun the process of succeeding the rebel colony from the Betazoid Alliance.
Naar'Haaj is calling the incident a grand victory for his people and declaring his leadership of the Tellarite Federation. The move put him in direct rivalry with the United Federation of Planet recognized leader of the Tellarites, Admiral Marcus-Brutus Pan'Taar. Naar'Haaj is now making open threats on the colony of Medara and even has made a couple of veiled threats against Admiral Vincent Viceroy and the Betazoid Alliance.
To the Federation, Sonjac is little more than a power hungry warlord and they have asked Starfleet to stay out of the situation but to the inhabitants of Darona and to Beta Zeta Sector, the threat is very real. It certainly appears that the upstart Tellarite may have at minimum the trade support of Praetor Suran. The Romulans are arming this upstart warlord.
Many Tellarites came to Darona and Medara to avoid the oppressive military that has clouded the once legendary history of the abrasive but democratic Tellar System. Now they are here again. They terrified that Naar'Haaj may revoke refugee status for those who have skills that could benefit his status back in the Tellar System.
Admiral Nicole Branson was busy preparing a response to the situation on behalf of the King's Fleet when her student crush, Ophelia Prang"Laar came walking in dressed very scantily. She looked at Nicole, with whom she had had a very brief tryst and with a longing look in her eyes begged, "Nikki, please don't let them take me back."
