The OWN story network has been maintained as a way to share personal logs that people wanted the public to see. When the colonists left the Beta Zeta System, the network aboard the wej'veQ was not able to support the network.
The system is now back on stream as the Open wej'veQ Network. The system allows users to post exerts from their personal logs to the open network for others to see.
The goal is to spread the news in other ways over and above Ishka's, Leo's or Brittany and Christine. Usually, the personal log entries are so benign they are barely noteworthy.
On occasion, somebody enters something worthy of conversation. When Petrine Polley's personal log showed an image of Patrick Hatherton in a bra and panties became noteworthy, the whole gender experience became noteworthy.
General Tanus wanted to show that his Paul Warren could rival Petrine's queen any day of the week. Tanus snapped a picture of his own.
Paul was not thrilled. He had to put on his gold operations uniform on, complete with Commander pips. He had to command persons on the operations platform of the wej'veQ. He did need them thinking either hateful or nasty thoughts about him. Some would be prejudicial hating his lifestyle choice. Others would be wondering what it was like or where he hid his manhood.
Personal logs searched by command or by the intelligence community are one thing but a very personal sight to be shared with his mate was not acceptable.
