"The pirates are not a threat. We have the best defences and after losing the Snake Pit, we have better internal defences and suppression systems.", Vincent looked at Acrylos.
"You don't understand. The pirates are planning to attack the Hudek pathway. They are not going to attack the cha'paj. People will stop coming to the cha'paj and Ishka will be back in business.", Acrylos lectured the boss.
"You want us to use our limited resources to escort Cardassian ships.", Vincent looked at the Bajoran engineer.
"If you want to stay in business, you are going to have to.", Acrylos spoke out of turn.
"I am the Admiral.", Vincent looked Acrylos.
"And I am the engineer. I am not repair Cardassian junk to end my career.", Acrylos stood up and headed for the door.
"Its your call, ADMIRAL.", Acrylos mocked.
Vincent shook his head. He called upstairs, "Paul, protect the Cardassian Trade Route."
"Admiral?", Paul answered filled with puzzlement.
"I think we could have problems.", Vincent replied.
The mighty Chariot was the only vessel that could get to the Hudek route quick enough. The mighty four nacelled starship showed both its power and its speed as it joined the parade of Cardassian ships trying to get restocked after nearly three months of tensions between the Union and the King's Fleet.
Everyone was on edge. Bridgette contacted the bridge, "Captain Coren, I think you need to come down to the quarters we share."
"Not now, sweetie. We have very big risks to manage.", Illyan responded.
"I think you need to come down here right now.", Bridgette announced.
"Please, Xindi. I have other priorities.", Illyan snapped.
"Illyan, I need you to come down here.", Bridgette repeated.
Illyan turned around, "Arexa, you have the con."
Illyan stormed into the quarter he shared with the alien Bridgette Tchilack. Bridgette hollered out of the bathroom, "I am told that the hold will only be approximately 2 hours. Dr. Greene is working on making it longer but for now its just 2 hours."
"What hold?", Illyan snapped.
Bridgette walked out of the bathroom. Illyan's jaw dropped.
The pirate ship dived on the supply run. Arexa shouted, "Illyan, you need to come up here now."
"Handle it, Erosian. I have to do this.", Illyan snapped.
On October 6, 2394, Arexa Laree officially became an Executive Officer aboard the USS Helio's Chariot. People will talk for a long time about her actions on the Hudek trial. When the Chariot and the supply line arrived at the cha'paj, Brittany corner the Erosian hybrid pilot and asked what her Captain was up to at the time of the pirate attack.
Arexa looked at the CBS reporter and smiled, "He was dealing with a crisis with the crew."
