"The King's a Fleet has experimented with AI technology with only limited success, Commander but with Commodore T'Zohl accepting the position with Federation One, I need to know that my ship is well able to respond to my every whim.", John explained to Commander Branson.
"T'Zohl believes that Commander S'Nii is able to replace her on the helm. You just don't replace a T'Zohl. It is like replacing a Sulu, Data or Tom Paris. Having you integrated with the Quest will mean your Borg abilities can compensate when Sympathy and S'Nii are not able to.", John lectured.
"Aye, Captain.", Tania responded.
The Quest main frame was merged with her consciousness. Tania had done this before but still loved the feeling of power in being linked to the flagship.
John looked at Tania, "How is my ship, Commander?"
Tania smiled, "Tip top, Captain."
John and Tania began spending every waking moment together. John loved that he could check on stations just by asking her. It was so convenient. Dawn was on the bridge in command late one evening.
John and Tania had ran a complete diagnostic. John looked at her, "You can feel every corner of this ship."
"Aye, Captain.", Tania responded.
"And you can process it all?", John asked.
"The Borg implants allow me to process it all. Remember in the collective, we were of one mind, literally with billions of input sources at the peak.", Tania explained.
"I am jealous. I love my ship. I wish I could be plugged into her too.", John sipped from his beer.
Tania took a deep breath. She had lost T'Zohl as more than a ship mate too. She looked at John, "In the throws of orgasm, the connection between two minds is so complete that often people claim shared memories and even shared minds. You could be plugged into me. I am plugged into the ship."
Tania could not believe the words coming out of her mouth. John was with Dawn. Tania had not been with a man since Vincent. John looked at Tania, "Do you think I could feel my ship in that way?"
"There is only one way of knowing.", the Borg Disconnect announced.
Dawn came down to the quarters she shared with John. He was moaning so loudly. His orgasm had blended his soul with Tania and in his mind with his ship. He had clearly blurred a dangerous line. Dawn was in shock and stormed away.
Commander S'Nii was sitting alone in the lounge when the T'Waakian hybrid came in heartbroken and crying. S'Nii listened as the hybrid weaved the tale of betrayal. S'Nii looked at Dawn, "You know there is a way to get back at him?"
"What's that?", Dawn sobbed.
"Sleep with his new pilot.", S'Nii bluntly flirted.
"Oh, Please.", Dawn walked out of the lounge.
John and Tania walked into the officer's mess laughing and giggling about a cargo bay door not closing properly. John teased, "You know what happens when you leave a cargo bay door opened."
Dawn was furious at the teenage flirting. She was so mad when Commander S'Nii came strolling in for supper. Dawn looked over at the new pilot. A million thoughts were running through her head.
Dawn walked up to the emotion embracing Vulcan, "Commander I need you to return to your quarters immediately."
"What for?", S'Nii asked.
"So I can get you out of that dress!", Dawn screeched.
S'Nii dropped her plate and grabbed Dawn by the hand as they rushed from the mess hall.
Myles looked at Sympathy, "I wonder where they are going in such a rush?"
Sympathy burst out laughing, "I don't think I will be the only one walking a little gingerly onto the bridge in the morning."
