The Antican called this morning again. Mr. Porter is always after more publicity for the rebirth of Paris as the "City of Lights" on the colony. Christine had her own problems. She had not had a formal broadcast since the Colony was restored. She has had to rely on Print Media to spread the word of the Omega News Network or her morning sub-space braodcast.
She was a Vulcan-Romulan hybrid. Logically, she should not be confused by the Antican calling her. Yet, she is always left confused when the Antican calls. With Dr. Rochester Paris, it was different. Theirs was an association of like minded intelligence and did not include any lustful thoughts. Certainly, they shared a conjugal relationship but it was more the practical expression of companionship rather than anything romantic and far from anything passionate. Her Vulcan soul was certainly accepting of that.
With Mr. Cole Porter, the name still made her chuckle, she felt a kindling in the fires of her soul that she rarely felt except when she was covering a big story, with big implications. She could not believe he kept calling after her continual rebuffs.
The pair were going to have supper at Dog Star. Christine could not believe she had capitulated to the Antican who calls her "Chrissy" and whom her own offices calls "Collie". She was embarrassed to be a part of her own scandal sheet.
She wanted to cancel but she just could not wait until dinner. Damn Antican.
