The Typhon Expanse is a region of space with unusual temporal properties.
In 2278, the USS Bozeman was in the Expanse when it traveled through a temporal rift to the year 2368, where it crashed into the USS Enterprise-D, resulting in the destruction of both ships. The Bozeman had been presumed lost, and when the Enterprise entered the expanse, Captain Jean-Luc Picard described the expanse in a log entry as unexplored.
Moving the Colony here was perfect for hiding during the Phoenix Liberation Wars but opened the colony up for the horrors of temporal turmoil. Vincent woke up in the morning. He did as he always did. He got into his uniform and he headed over to BLACK. Bobbi-Lee Ale, Coffee and Kanar. He loved the coffee, but he loved the company more. He went to the coffee house this morning.
Bobbi-Lee was more radiant than ever. She was the love of his life. They had an "undefined" relationship. Often they were seen as a couple and a staple of the Omega Prime social scene but because of her family and their age difference, they would often get close and then separate for a "cooling off period."
This was one of those times. Vincent was overwhelmed by the Jersey Juggernaut and needed to focus on saving the city of Jersey and the loyalty of the Jarada. He did not need the distractions of a relationship. Or at least he believed so.
The war had turned into terrorist attacks by the Tamarians more than a full front war. These are the worst quigmires throughout history. Vincent longed for a real front and a real war. At least the Vulcans and Romulans fought in unit and troops and with honor straight up. These Tamarians fight with ferocity but like snakes in the grass. They are continually popping up and turning a tranquil scene into a graveyard.
Vincent was walking with Colonel Brown when the explosion reign down from above. The sky lit up with a white haze and Vincent looked over at his Antican friend. He was not Antican anymore. He was human and in the uniform of the Confederacy. Vincent looked down. He too was in the uniform of the Confederacy facing the forces of General Lee at Gettysburg.
The Battle of Gettysburg (July 1–3, 1863), fought in and around the town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, as part of the Gettysburg Campaign, was the battle with the largest number of casualties in the American Civil War and is often described as the war's turning point.
Union Maj. Gen. Vincent Viceroy's Army of the Phoenix defeated attacks by Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee's Army of the Tamarians, slowing Lee's invasion of the city of Jersey.
After his success at Chancellorsville in May 1863, The Tamarians led their army through the River Covington Valley for the third invasion of the colony, hoping to reach as far as Veltkamp Village, or even Omega Prime, and to influence colony politicians to give up their protest of a Tamarian City. Prodded by Governor, Maj. Gen. Belvedere moved his army in pursuit, but was relieved just three days before the battle and replaced by Viceroy.
The two armies began to collide at Jersey on July 1, 1863, as Lee urgently concentrated his forces there. Low ridges to the northwest of town were defended initially by a Tamarian cavalry division, which was soon reinforced with two corps of Tamarian infantry. However, two large Confederate corps assaulted them from the northwest and north, collapsing the hastily developed Union lines, sending the defenders retreating through the streets of town to the hills just to the south.
On the second day of battle, most of both armies had assembled. The Tamarian line was laid out in a defensive formation resembling a fishhook. Lee launched a heavy assault on the Union left flank, and fierce fighting raged at Little Round Top, the Wheatfield, Devil's Den, and the Peach Orchard. On the Union right, demonstrations escalated into full-scale assaults on Jarada and Talos Hill. All across the battlefield, despite significant losses, the Phoenix Defence League held their lines.
On the third day of battle, July 3, fighting resumed on Hunt's Hill, and cavalry battles raged to the east and south, but the main event was a dramatic infantry assault by 12,500 Tamarians against the center of the Phoenix line on Talos Ridge known as Tamarian's Charge. The charge was repulsed by Phoenix rifle and artillery fire, at great losses to the Tamarian army. Lee led his army on a torturous retreat back to the mountain.
Between 46,000 and 51,000 Phoenix Colony Citizens were casualties in the three-day battle.
The battle was very hard on both side and is seen as a major turning point in the Jersey Juggernaut. The Phoenix Defence League retreated back to Omega Prime still trapped in the temporal rift. Vincent looked Belvedere, "If we are trapped here, I am glad with you my friend."
"And I you, Vincent.", Bell responded.
The men walked passed the livery to the local inn. They had been battered and bruised by the war. The innkeeper came out. Vincent, still in his regal union uniform looked up, "Bobbi-Lee?"
"Oh god, Vincent. I thought I was the only one trapped here.", Bobbi-Lee exclaimed.
She brought the men in and fed and clothed them. They were the heroes of the civil war.
Bobbi-Lee looked at Vincent as he put on a clean uniform and stepped out into the 1863 sun. She followed him outside, "My dear, Commodore. I shall say this. You look incredible"
Vincent turned around, "As do you, Miss Bobbi."
Vincent knelt down to one knee, "We may be here forever. This is no place to be a woman alone. Will you marry me?"
Bobbi Lee was about to answer when the scene washed away. They were back in Omega Prime 2388. Vincent was about to begin his day. He knew this could not have been a dream. His body ached with the torture of three days of war at Gettysburg. He looked over at Bobbi-Lee. Did she know? Could she know?
Bobbi-Lee walked over with the coffee pot. She looked at Vincent and after a long pause, "Does the question still hold true?"
Vincent looked up at her, "You remember..."
"I remember.", Bobbi-Lee smiled.
Vincent started to well up with tears. The battle had been hard. He saw many young men die at Gettysburg. The smell will haunt him forever. He clasp her hand.
She looked down, "Commodore Viceroy, I would be honored to become Mrs. Bobbi-Lee Viceroy."
Vincent stood up and hugged her tightly.
