General Baylok brought his 3 Bird of Prey Task Force into high orbit around Reykja Penthe. The Klingon demanded that he address the command of the colony. Governor Bernice Branson, knowing that there was not truly a Fleet Command with Admiral Viceroy retired, addressed the Klingon General.
“I do not recognize you as the authority. You are the saboteur and a criminal.”, Baylok boasted.
“As interim Governor, I have the authority to serve as the colony ambassador.”, Bunny retorted trying to find her voice as more then a rebel and a protester.
“I and the Klingon Empire demand reparations for the loss of the IKS MoHar and if you cannot make them, we demand the head of the saboteur so an example can be made.”, the general almost spit as spoke with such vigour.
“Firstly, the ship was an illegal prisoner transfer in violation of current Federation Klingon Accords so this was not an act of treason but an act of bravery against kidnappers.”, Bunny lectured the general trying to sound authoritative.
The Klingon laughed, “The Empire drove the Federation from this colony once before and it will be my great pleasure to do so again.”
Bunny did not know that Selayan Admiral Hadrian of Selay had joined her in the Comms room at the Academy. The aged Selayan had been a long time mentor of Admiral Deveniss of Selay in his youth. Bunny did not know that the burgeoning colony had caused Deveniss to reach out to his mentor. Like Deveniss, Hadrian is outlived his 12 year lifespan. He is old, wrinkled and for lack of a better descriptor, he is hideous. He and his Selayan decorative collar hovered over the human hippie.
“What the hell is that?”, General Baylok bellowed.
Bunny turned around and she too shrieked.
“General Baylok, the King’s Fleet considers the crash of the IKS Mo’Har to be a tragic accident and has reported such to the Klingon Empire and United Federation of Planets. Myself, Admirals Tan and Deveniss offer our deepest sympathies for the tragic loss of life aboard the vessel, alien and Klingon alike.”, Hadrian spoke with aged authority. His voice cracked showing his age.
“I believe that you and your three vessels should leave King’s Fleet safe in the knowledge that you have confirmed the tragic accident.”, Hadrian almost directed the Klingon.
“And if we don’t.”, General Baylok retorted.
“The King’s Fleet will inform Starfleet Command that the Klingons are not the peaceful warriors trying to enter the Federation but an aggressive colonial power that will not adhere to Starfleet Doctrine. Are you prepared to put the alliance and perhaps feeding a billion Klingons at risk over the crash of the Mo’Har?”, Hadrian winked at Baylok mocking him.
“This is not over snake man. Not by a long shot.”, Baylok cried out but his task force withdrew from colony space.
Deveniss joined Bunny and Admiral Hadrian in the Comms room smiling, “Governor Branson, meet Admiral Hadrian of Selay, my mentor.”
The three then shared stories about Selay, the King’s Fleet and Selayan Federation relations.
