The bombing of the Omega Pods is seen as a troublesome report on the Federation News Networks. The King’s Fleet, a respected regional fleet authority that has produced a United Federation of Planets President in Nicole Branson, three Starfleet Commanders in Chief Vincent Viceroy, Deveniss of Selay and Tan of the Hierarchy and a fourth if you could current Starfleet Commander in Chief Admiral Gabriel Moyer, was seen as holding up with its survivors in the Omega Pods on the Klingon Colony of Reykja Penthe.
The Klingon High Council and United Federation of Planets Vice President Vowelek of Maug authorized the bombing in accordance with the temporal prime directive turning the once infamous residual Omega Pods from the last fall of the King’s Fleet. The colourful pods, maintained by Admiral Deveniss were seen as a bit of symbol of the regional fleet authorities. The pods were colourful but little else. They looked cool but did little more than survive in the cold of the Klingon prison planet.
The truth is Starfleet has never really been a fan of the regional fleet authorities and has often taken steps to hamper their existence. The Omega Fleet in the Cardassian region, the Phoenix Federation around the Phoenix Planet near the Romulan Neutral Zone, and the King’s Fleet around Betazed and the first Governor’s Station through to life around the Omega Colony, the Phoenix Planet, the colony of Ephyra near Bajor and now twice at Reykja Penthe in the Klingon theatre have all been left high and dry when their usefulness in the region is seen as have run its course.
Starfleet and the United Federation of Planets used the Temporal Prime Directive and the discovery of the Klingon-Tellarite hybrids in Camelot to decide to end the King’s Fleet once more. Admiral Gabriel Moyer and Starfleet stood back while the Klingons ensured the temporal bubble created around the city on the former colony would never spread and would never be used to house other multi-generational genetic experiments. The fear of eugenics will never leave Starfleet. The fear of a temporal incident also never leaves Starfleet.
Admiral Deveniss lit the lantern in the Omega Pod assigned to the King’s Fleet Command. He looked across at Governor Bernice Branson, Admiral Tan and Ambassdor T’Luv. He smiled.
Commander Tchilick Tchilack joined the group through the connecting tunnel. Deveniss looked at the Xindi pilot, “The project worked very well.”
Click introduced Xindi Guggenheim Tchilack. Deveniss looked at the green skinned grasshopper like Xindi. The creepy little creature smiled extended one of 6 arms. The Selayan, himself looking like a cobra snaked headed being shook hands with the creature. Click explained that Guggenheim is a Xindi entrepreneur who understood reinforcing the Omega Pods. It was his design that made it possible to survive the Klingon bombardment including getting buried in the soil as a result of the explosions. It was also his connecting tunnels that allowed the once colourful pods to connect in the buried ground.
The temperament of the Xindi entrepreneur was much like a Ferengi. Deveniss could feel the tension. There would be some sort of payment in the future for this rescue.
Deveniss looked at Click. Click has been noteworthy in the past for joining the Romulans. There is a level of mistrust there. It gets worse. Click turned to introduce Dr. Himmler Tchilack. The bio-mechanical physicist was solely responsible for the extremely fast reinforcement of the Omega Pods. It was Bernice who pointed out, bluntly that Himmler shared his name with the notorious German Officer responsible for the Final Solution on Earth.
It was a terrible thing to say when the remaining inhabitants of the King’s Fleet were intombed in the Omega Pods; perhaps even waiting to die.
