Re-Assignment – The Wrath of Viceroy Empty
PostSubject: Re-Assignment – The Wrath of Viceroy   Re-Assignment – The Wrath of Viceroy EmptySat Mar 27, 2010 8:42 am

Captain S'Nii had settled into command of the USS Prometheus and into her relationship with Lindsay Viceroy. The pair were the butt of every ship joke but were still a big part of the Prometheus and its recent successes.

Captain S'Nii was very happy to take on the test mission for taking some energy readings up near hte pole. The Prometheus was small enough to carefully handle the scientific mission. Much more suited than the newly refurbished Quasar Quest or the big Daedelus under Captain Poteat. The Rhodes Island would have worked well but Commander Sanders was still getting her feet wet within the Phoenix Colony command structure.

Velta had the bridge. This was a scientific mission. She was best suited for command. No one even anticipated that the Klingons were still maintaining a secret base up in the pole. Dr. Larle had made no threats. She had made no suggestions about any remaining strongholds of the House of Olarg.

Velta called out the base just before the first blast came from the surface. The Prometheus rocked something fierce. Velvet screamed, "Sunny, we have a huge problem."

Captain S'Nii yelled, "Status Report."

"It is bad.", Lindsay yelled into her combadge.

'We are goin' down!", Lindsay yelled.

Captain S'Nii was furious, "Brace for impact."

Captain S'Nii ordered an immediate update and to inform Major General Fidelis.

Ferdinand Fidelis is a hero of the Antican people. A legend of the attack by the Borg on Antican B7 and a hero of the defence of the Phoenix Colony but these were ground wars fought by grunts. Now he had a serious military scenario to play with.

Fidelis was in near shock when Captain S'Nii reported that the Prometheus was down. Fidelis had no way of getting ground forces up there quick enough. He had to turn to the Battlegroup. The USS Quasar Quest was the closest ship.

Fidelis was unsure of the next course of action. The Commander In Chief contacted Governor Coren. Eugenio was very worried that the incident would define him as a governor. He wanted to make the right decision.

Commander T'Zohl was on the bridge of the USS Quasar Quest when the incident occurred. She contacted Phoenix Colony command demanding orders. With S'Nii being a fellow Vulcan, she was seriously wanting to get involved. Fidelis was waiting for orders from Coren.

Vincent came running into the Federation Complex holding his communicator, "Lindsay is in trouble, what the hell are you all doing about it?"

Fidelis looked at Viceroy, "The situation is under control."

Vincent looked at Eugenio and Ferdinand, "Bullsh**!"

Eugenio looked at Vincent, "What the hell would you have us do, Commodore?"

Vincent grabbed the console, "Captain Warren, can you see the Prometheus?"

"This is Commander T'Zohl of Vulcan, First Officer of the USS Quasar Quest and I can confirm sighting.", T'Zohl responded.

"Commander, my niece is on that ship. You have authority to do whatever is necessary to protect her.", Commodore Viceroy shouted.

"One more thing, Commander. The Klingon base is in violation of their surrender. Get John up there and make the Klingons realize that this is a serious infraction.", Vincent yelled.

Captain John Warren was very happy to be back in command of the Double Q. He walked onto the bridge, "You heard the man. Make the base disappear."

"Are you certain, sir?", T'Zohl asked.

"This is not a request.", John snapped.

"They shot down a Federation vessel. The decision was made by them.", Warren growled.

The Sovereign Obliterated the base. Warren looked at T'Zohl, "Problem solved."

John looked at Giselle, standing at Operations, "Ensign Veltkamp, organize enough engineering staff to help get the Prometheus back in the air. Take whatever you feel you will need."

"Captain.", Giselle asked.

"Ensign Veltkamp. You have fantastic genetics. Your uncle is a founder of the Phoenix Federation. You were the Omega Academy's best student. Its is time you earned your reputation.", Warren smiled.

"One more thing, Giselle. I have faith in you.", Warren smiled at Giselle as a father would a daughter.

Commander T'Zohl nodded at the old Captain. He comes across as a hard ass but he is really just a father with high expectations of everyone in his family.

"John Warren to Commodore Viceroy. Target destroyed. 48 hours until Prometheus is back in the air. Unfortunately all scientific data is lost. The USS Providence should be routed up here to complete the mission.", John spoke through his combadge.

"Well done!", Vincent smiled.

Eugenio looked at Vincent, "It appears I may have made a mistake, Commodore."

Eugenio looked at Ferdinand and then back at Vincent, "The colony is best served with you as our Military Commander In Chief. Major General Fidelis can return to the ground forces."

Ferdinand frowned. He knew that he was in over his head.

Vincent looked at Eugenio, "I accept."

Eugenio smiled. His term as governor may be defined by this event but at least it was a successful response.
