"She can handle it.", Vincent looked at Brooklyn as D'Solos and Nicole examined the HUD watching closely the movements of the USS Wrath of Prometheus.
"The Quest should be used in this capacity.", Nicole observed.
"I respect Captain Warren and even respect his want to do this but the Galaxy Class is simply too large. It would become another victim of the array. It must be one of the smaller ships. The Eagle proved already that you can get very close.", Vincent frowned. He hated giving credit to the Eagle and Captain T'Zohl over her involvment in the tryst that has made Lindsay and S'Nii the darling of ONN reporting.
"The Prometheus is small enough that it can move into range, lock on the Washington and try to pull her out. The ship has specialized equipment and has the ability to do this.", Vincent continued.
"With Samantha at the helm?", D'Solos asked.
"Now is the time.", Vincent responded.
"She has been groomed for this position every since she entered the Omega Academy.", Vincent observed.
"It is nice to have one of my students in such a prominent role.", Nicole smiled.
"Commander S'Nii was valedictorian.", Brooklyn teased the Commodore.
"This is about Samantha.", Vincent growled. He hated the S'Nii and his niece, his favorite niece Lindsay were together.
Jo-Jo maneovered the Prometheus into position. She turned back to Samantha, "We are ready, Sam."
"Make this happen.", Samantha looked at Jo-Jo Viceroy. Samantha knew what this moment could mean for her career. The Phoenix Colony will be seen as helping out the Federation. This is something the Federation would never do for the Phoenix Federation. Better yet, the daughter of President William Hunt will be the one affecting a rescue.
Taryn looked at Samantha, "We have connection."
"Make sure, we are holding power.", Samantha warned.
"Major, we could use all the power you got.", Samantha shouted to Zoe in main engineering.
"You are already getting it.", Zoe shouted.
"Come on, Jo-Jo, pull the freaking thing out of the array.", Samantha ordered.
Taryn sat down at the second helm station, "Come on, old girl. Pull the Washington out."
"Zoe, open it up.", Samantha ordered.
"This will tear the hull apart.", Beamon warned.
"No it won't. This is the hull of the original USS Wrath of Achilles. She will hold together. In my father's name, she will hold together.", Samantha shouted.
"Open her up.", Samantha demanded.
Brooklyn looked at the monitor, "The Washington is moving!!"
Vincent came running over, "That a girl, Samantha. Pull that big bird out of there. You can do it."
Vincent looked at Nicole, "She is a good girl."
"I would expect nothing less. She graduated from my school.", Nicole grinned.
Taryn looked at Jo-Jo, "Compensate, beautiful. Hold the bird together"
Samantha looked at Taryn, "And Prometheus took the clay and from the clay he moulded man and woman in his image so that one day, they would be able to stand next time him... next to their god."
Nicole grinned at the grand speech.
Zoe screamed from the Prometheus engineering, "We are free. We are free."
"This is Captain Casper Wells of the USS Washington, Flag Ship of Killer's Task Group assigned to Starbase 234 acknowledging that the ship is free of the solar array.", Casper announced on all channels.
"Welcome back, son.", Admiral William Wells announced from the USS Black Dragon.
Samantha looked at Taryn and Jo-Jo, "Well done, Ladies."
"It was your faith in this ship, Samantha. It was your belief in the ship that kept us going.", Taryn smiled.
"This is Admiral Dominic Montgomery, Star Fleet Regional Command, Starbase 234, respectfully honoring Lt. Commander Samantha Hunt and the crew of the USS Wrath of Prometheus for the daring rescue of Captain Casper Wells of the USS Washington. Star Fleet and the United Federation of Planets offer their sincere thanks and honorable best wishes to the Phoenix Colony, the King's Battlegroup, and Governor D'Solos Vreenak.", Dominic announced on all channels.
Vincent laughed, "I bet those words were hard to swallow."
Nicole smiled, tapping the console, "Congratulations to Omega Academy Graduate Lt. Commander Samantha Hunt."
Vincent stepped forward, "You have that wrong."
"What? She is one of my students.", Nicole corrected.
"I am not disputing that, but after today, I would expect you to refer to her as COMMANDER Samantha Hunt.", Vincent winked.
