Christine needed to get on a ship. She truly wanted the Archangel and when Commander Cherry Vasa was selected as her Executive Officer, Christine tried to get on the same shuttle that took Cherry into space. She was refused. This was a military operation. Christine needed a birds eye view of the crisis above the colony. She had been to Boston and saw the things she thought she would never see. She saw members of the Phoenix Defence League fighting with the Klingons to drive the Vidiians out of Bajor. Klingons and Anticans fighting side by side. Chikace Larle, a doctor by trade on the battlefield with the Kalama Klingons fighting with Colonel Brown and the Phoenix Defence League was exactly what Nicole Branson had predicted.
Christine finally got the go ahead from Giselle Veltkamp to join the staff of the Double Q. The Romulan-Vulcan Hybrid walked onto the bridge. John turned around, "Just don't get in the way."
"Dammit.", Giselle interrupted.
"Here they come....", Giselle half screamed.
John looked at T'Zohl as she came on the bridge, "Veltkamp, take Operations and Tactical. T'Zohl, take the helm. This time, we are not running. It is time for the Sovereign to act like a Sovereign. Bring the Double Q into a tactical run."
"With pleasure.", T'Zohl sat at the bridge. She was always more at home here. She secretly wished that someone else would serve as Executive Officer and had made her expectations clear to John. T'Zohl brought the big bird around. She informed the Prometheus, Archangel and Providence of her intentions.
T'Zohl was stunned with the IKS Martok responded as well. The Klingon voice squealed, "Time to drive the enemy from out midst."
John looked at Giselle who put the Captain on the main viewer of all ships, "This is Captain John Warren, Task Group Commanding Officer, King's Battle Group, in service to the Phoenix Colony and the Phoenix Federation giving the Vidiian Sodality Invasion one more chance to withdraw without incident. The countdown begin now."
John cut off the speech. He looked at Giselle and then at Christine, "Ms. T'Nley, this is a war. Aggression is often necessary."
Christine looked at John, "Captain, I am here to report the facts."
"And what are the facts?", John snapped, mistrusting the ONN operative.
Christine looked at John, "They duped and embarrassed the colony. This embarrassment toppled a civilian government. This embarrassment ruined a relationship with Betazed and its representative on the colony. They interrupted the primary industry and the delivery of raw materials throughout the Beta Quadrant. I will not chose sides, Captain but this action requires a response."
T'Zohl interrupted, "John, I have an attack vector and confirmation from the other vessels. Your orders, sir?"
John looked back at Giselle to make sure his student was okay and then to T'Zohl, "Time to finish this."
T'Zohl brought the Sovereign on an attack run. John smiled as the Vidiians attempted to make a run for it. John looked at Christine and then smiled, "Get 'em, Zoey!"
T'Zohl hated when he called her that but weaved the big bird with the fluidity of a fighter pilot. She was in her glory. They were not going to get away.
The air war suddenly turned in the Phoenix Colony favor leaving the Vidiians without air support. The Prometheus, Martok, Archangel and Providence were all reporting victories. Captain Sanders reported that the Double Q was chasing the invasion group leader. The words only seemed to give T'Zohl more want to score the victory.
T'Zohl looked at Giselle, "Take the shot...."
Veltkamp looked at John. John snapped, "Don't look to me for confirmation, Gee. Fire when you are comfortable. The ship is yours."
T'Zohl weaved left and then made a hard, hard right. Giselle fired hitting the Vidiian ship driving its nose towards the planet. John smiled, "Nice shot!!"
The Vidiian ship ploughed into the countryside of the Phoenix Colony near Boston, the perfect symbol to help assist the ground forces with their motivation.
The fire lasted for quite a while. The marines were soon standing on the wreckage holding their phaser rifles in the air waving to the Double Q and giving the thumbs up. Without the help of the viewer, the crew could never have seen the marines, but Giselle put in on the main screen. John smiled. T'Zohl, the stoic Vulcan also smiled. This was a grand moment for the niece of Admiral Tim Veltkamp.
Christine looked at John, "This is a good thing that you have done today, Captain."
John looked back, "We have done today, Ms. T'Nley."
Christine smiled. Warren was a veteran Captain. He truly understood what this all meant.
