John contacted Governor's, "We have discovered the Zaranite Base. Are you sure you want to do this?"
"We have no other options. The Zaranites have the smallest ships and can take advantage of the Retarnee supply lines. By enlisting their help, we will be able to keep them out of the Alpha Quadrant and the Amanda Corridor.", Vincent responded.
"They are Zaranites!", John snapped bck.
"They are well equipped raiders. We could use their help.", Vincent responded.
"I can't believe we are making deals with the Vidiians for Medical Aide and now the Zaranites to help raid the Retarnee.", John grumbled.
"These are desperate times, Captain.", Vincent responded.
"God speed.", Vincent ended the comm link.
Vincent looked at Elora as she walked into the room, "Gul Enranet has arrived."
"Thank you, Commander.", Vincent responded.
Vash walked into Ops, "You summoned me, Commodore."
"What is your experience with Legate Thua'ra Varno.", Vincent asked.
"Gul Varno.", Vash began, "Excuse me, Legate Varno commanded the Cardassian research platform, Platform 1968. He was my senior officer. We experimented on Bajorans during the occupation. After the fall of Cardassia, Gul Varno left for Star Fleet joining the USS Nova Horizon. I remained in Cardassia and took over the Fleet. I pursued Varno to bring him back. We fought. I kidnapped and nearly killed him."
"He was my friend for over a decade. He convinced me after I was removed as head of the Cardassian Fleet to join the Federation. I did so and served on the Tanmesad in support of the Hebetian revolution in Cardassia. Varno returned to be my Executive Officer. Our friendship resumed and when the Tanmesad started coming to the Phoenix Colony so did he. His companion, Dr. Ro Anora became the head of Boston here on the Colony and he joined her. He has many, many friends in the Cardassian and Bajoran communities.", Vash responded.
"And that is how he got elected.", Viceroy responded.
"We are not pleased with his attitude.", Vincent looked Enranet.
"We need Varno to stand with us. We offered you all a new life. He is either with us or against us. Do I make myself clear?", Viceroy switched to a very stern tone.
"Varno is his own man.", Vash warned.
"We are pleased to have the Cardassians are here. We are pleased to enhance our community with your scientific knowledge and your people incredible sense of loyalty and duty. We however... No you lot need to understand that that loyalty is not to Varno or the Cardassian Union. The loyalty is to us, to the Phoenix Colony. Do I make myself clear?", Viceroy glared at Enranet.
"We are with you, Commodore. I will speak to Varno.", Enranet responded.
"You'd better.", Viceroy warned.
"Commodore, Captain Warren confirms that the Zaranites have accepted the payments and will begin raiding the Retarnee supply lines and will accept formal payment from Dominar Cillian for the liberation of Beta Cormac. The Raiders have also accepted the weapons provided from the Phoenix Colony.", Elora announced.
"We are being ruled by the enemy and in bed with the devil. The war has left us in hell.", Vincent sighed.
