Dr. Greene had been taking on more and more day to day responsibility of the Academy. Casey was taking on a large role with the Covenant offices and was away more often. Skye had hoped to expand the teaching roster. She had been close with Michael but he was back in his element commanding the Plato. He was both gone as a professor but also gone from her life.
Skye was in town at Leo's dinner. It was a far different world the the luxurious restaurants complete with high end replicators and beautiful lighting aboard the wej'veQ or in the Covenant offices. This was a cold wooden structure serving hot soup and buns. Leta Felis was doing all she could to make Reykja Penthe bearable. It was hardly the Camelot they had dreamed of.
Skye saw Magdelena and Hera sipping on soup. The very tall women once symbols of the Delavan Empire were little more than another odd looking alien in Governor T'tan's weird collection of refugees. Skye wanted to expand the cultural understanding of the students. They had been deluged by the fact that the Klingons were the superior race. She walked over and approached the pair about teaching sociology and alien cultures at the Larle Institute.
Hera responded, "We do not have the educational background to help these young humanoids. We are simply aliens to them."
"This is exactly what I would like to bring to the students. I would like to show them that the universe is far more than the humano-centric Federation or the forceful dominance of the a Klingon Empire. There are many worlds in this universe. You are perfect examples of that.", Dr. Greene tried to be convincing.
The ladies spoke briefly in their native tongue. Their tone did not sound so promising.
"The Academy has a holo suite complete with Riisian programming.", Skye offered.
"Can it be warm?", the former Empress responded hopefully.
Hera was almost giddy as she walked with Skye in the Riisian corridor wearing only shorts and a sleeveless shirt. She looked at Skye, "Thank you. It is so cold here."
"How did your first few classes go?", Skye asked.
"Sometimes it pays to be bigger.", Hera teased. There were many Klingons hoping to get a new start in the King's a Fleet.
Skye looked at Hera, "That it does."
Skye looked at Hera's hands. They were bigger. Skye had had a relationship with Nicole Branson but had recently gone back to males and Michael Montgomery. The reason is an obvious one. Inserting a finger or two compared to inserting the real thing is an obvious difference.
Skye looked at Hera, "Would you like to share a glass of wine?"
Hera looked at Skye, "Platonically?
"I will leave that up to you.", Dr. Greene responds.

Thanks Cam for some advice about writers block. I will try to do some more stuff with the Academy staff. - Nat
